Money tip for those who travel

I rather prefer the Caxton card. With that, not only is it commission free, but you know the rate of exchange before you make a purchase.

Is that the one that has hidden charges including charges for not using it after a period of time ?

No John,
Its a pre loaded credit card.
You get the best possible exchange rates, ask Wapping

Absolutely.

I just chuck a few quid in when the exchange rate is decent and I have a few quid to spare.

Apart from a couple of independent shops, I don't know where you'll get a better assured rate.

I was listening to Paul Lewis of money box who read out a complaint from someone who had been hit with inactivity fees from one of the prepaid cards, he said it was in the t and c's and therefore fair for the card provider to charge, I think the inactivity period was more than six months, but I can't remember which card it was.

I have a Fx card. So it's a case of wait and see. There's not that much on it to be honest.

It doesn't matter how much is on it if you haven't used the card and they charge an "inactivity fee".
