My LG monitor seems to have died a death. I was thinking of a new flat screen monitor and then I thought what if I could get a combined TV & monitor.
Is this possible if so what and where do you recommend I look for one, and what exactly should I be looking for ?

Yes, perfectly possible. Several decent LCD TVs will have a "computer input". For example I use my Sony 32" LCD TV as both a TV and monitor for the PC in the living room.

What to look for is the type of interface supported. There are two main types of computer monitor interface, Analague RGB and DVI. Your computer willsupport one or both of these. You then need to make sure that the TV you buy has the same type of input.

DVI is newer and slightly better, but you can get really good results with analogue RGB as long as you have decvent quality cables.

When choosing the TV, make sure that the native LCD resolution is adeqaute for your needs on the computer. In practise Iwouldn't reccomend buying anythign less than a 1080i nowadays anayway, go for 1080p if you can.

Cheers,
Jon
