Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
As we can't stretch to a new PC just yet, especially as this one seems to be working OK, we have decided to invest in a decent 19" flatscreen monitor instead as this will definitely free up a lot of space.

Any suggestions on specs to look for? Models, Makes, Characteristics to ask for?

i bought one of these

so good i bought another 19 + a 17". not the cheapest, but as good as any i've seen. dead pixel guarantee too :)

this was a little while back, so there's probably something better & cheaper out now. do some research, quality varies wildly between makes/models.

PC World were doing Viewsonic VA1912w 19" wide screens for £135 just after Christmas...........linky

Normally £159.99, but if you pick up the in-store leaflet, you get it for £135 :thumb

Was looking for a normal 19" monitor, but when I saw that for £135, I grabbed one knowing Viewsonic is a good brand & I could return it if I didn't like it.

So far, it's great, no problems at all :thumb

Hi Warthog
I have a Samsung 19 inch the 930bf and while not the cheapest it is very good . Try and view your intended purchase before you buy it and look closely for dead pixels . I had a 15 inch screen before that had a dead pixel and once you have noticed it , Your eyes seem to be drawn to it all the time and it is very irritating.
