I'm here now, was going to stay in Madrid but roads were busy. I'm in the Hotel Julia (J's are pronounced as H's remember). Hotel is very nice and very well priced. 39 euro per night no breakfast as restaurant not open until May. But when I drive in there's plenty of cafe's to eat at. Lots of bars too. Got more pics of hotel will use my laptop later.
Sorry I'm in Aranda de Duero in the Burgos area.

If you are going to wait until southern Spain you might as well change the tyre in northern Morocco. Just look for a tyre place with massive tractor/truck tyres outside, you should be looking at no more than 30 dh (£2) to change the tyre.

I'd say most towns and cities have at least one tyre place, you'll spot them by the tyres outside.

Decided against leaving stuff with Harry, for no other reason than when I come back I'll use a different route altogether, no toll roads and all site seeing.
Having a beer, they are only 20cl so the little bar tender is gonna be worn out !!!

Checked in for ferry, it leaves at 11:30 I can board from 10. In the town have a bite to eat.

This morning when I set off it was temp was 2c. At 3pm it got to 28.5c. It's now 19c. Good job I packed that air con unit for the tent !!!

Great to see you making swift progress, shows how a 1200 can cover the ground.

Beware of leaving unsecured bags on the bike, Chris Scott had his soft luggage opened and stuff stolen on that ferry crossing. There's a caged luggage storage area next to the car deck where you can leave stuff.
