I want to start an elk/moose thread.
That is because most tourist find our large & wild animal charming, and think they will never see one in front of their wehicle.
-I hope they all are right!
But meeting this large animal might hurt, for you and the elk.
Many elks die in traffic, the train kill many, and sometimes and elk and a motorbike collide.

Too many elks here is a problem, and we are getting more elks so we just have to shoot elks every year. We have been doing that for many years.
There are not many natural enemies here for the elks; the wolfes eat some, but we does not have that many hungry wolfes. There is not many hungry bears here either, and they sleep in the winter too.
Sometimes Aftenposten have some elk-news on their English site, and here is latest news: http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article2209487.ece
