Nice shiny non-abs 1500mile gs and the rear brake seizes!. It was fine when I parked but solid when I came to go home. The brake light was on permanently and the lever was solid. After 10 mins of running the engine and riding (v. carefully) it freed itself but the light stayed on and the lever went from solid to spongy and back again. Managed to get home and have called out BMW assistance .... we'll see.

Up to now it was the best bike in the world.

Sounds from your symptoms like you have air or moisture in the brake fluid, which is expanding with heat soakage and operating the brakes for you. Either that or a problem with the rear master cylinder/redal assembly.

No doubt BMW will sort it......

If not, maybe a change of brake fluid would be a good idea and a check, clean and relube of the pedal/cylinder/switch. Are the non-abs brakes linked?? If so, be sure your hand guards aren't fouling the front brake lever, which could be operating a bit of rear brake.

sounds to me like you may have picked up a stone or something and got stuck in the pedal?or the caliper between the pads?, could explain the light and pedal action?.
Give it a good look over and keep us informed please.
