Today I notices my tinted screen is cracking around the fixing mounts, like a spiders web. My mirrors heads have started to move around by themselfs, the mount on the stem has come lose and its not adjustable.

But most serious is my front wheel is out of alignment ! Now my bike has the issues with the vario's that don't fit, subframe out of tolerance, I'm now think the whole bike is out of tolerance ffs.

Bars perfectly straight.

When the wheel is straight the top yoke and bars are out of align, and the front wheel has never been removed.

Also lock to lock there is some issues, like the lock stop has been welded in the wrong place !

Very strange, it don't pull to the side even if I lift my hands its ok.

My front wheel is the same, although not quite as bad as yours and I will be returning to rainbow to have them look at it. This isnt a new issue either...
My '58 plate 1200gs also had exactly the same problem. Its more noticable when riding as the handlebar is more pulled to the elft hand side.
My '58 plate was from pidcocks, this '13 plate from rainbow. I recall piddies saying it was something they knew about and required the lower fork bits just being re aligned ( there are the bolts which undo to allow this I believe). Anyway, they sorted it back then. Ive seen a few gs's with this over the years.

Mine doesn't have the lock problem of yours though. Very strange.

Yep I agree titto forks twisted undo pinch bolts should do the trick, its what we do on the enduro bikes. Lock to lock I'm not sure what's going on there !
I've sent these pics to the dealer and await there reply.

Jonnie B, I thought about that but all the gaps around the interlocking panels meet up perfect, and it would have to be out a lot.

Good information share.

Presume you'll be discussing at length with the dealer.

Would be interested in you sharing the findings/outcomes. Hopefully, these can all be satisfactorily dealt with by your dealer, and to your satisfaction.

Right had a further look after work and Oh fook the lower pinch bolts was lose ! So the forks had twisted in the yoke could have been serious.

I'd strongly advise peeps check there's I torque them up to 24nm after putting some thread locker on em.

Still have the issue with lock to lock being different !

DD good spot...... Not the first time pinch bolts have been found to be loose.... Bit naughty really!

Just a thought - my '13 RT was rejected by its original purchaser as being 'off true', - in fact there turned out to be a bent upper lug on the fairing bracket which sits behind the the clock assembly - effecting the position of absolutely nothing!

The point is that what got the original buyer worked up enough to dig out his micrometer was that the gap between fairing and tank panel was unequal - wider on one side of the bike than the other....and guess what? It is! - on every single twin cam RT ever made. Whoever said that bikes should be/have to be/ought to be symmetrical along the centre axis?

This may be a total irrelevance..in which case please ignore it! :D

Just done a check on my pinch bolts,

Not loose , but certainly not tight enough :blast

Thanks for spotting D Dong, :thumby:

I'll make sure I check all the nuts and bolts tomorrow,

The old pinch bolt thing again FFS - we had a spell of pinch bolt madness a few years ago with the original 1200 - it faded away pretty quickly as people started to realise how these things work.

If you think that your forks really are out of alignment and it's a new bike then take it straight back to the dealer and get it checked - then come and tell us about it.

Why should the lock-to-lock be the same, please explain this one - why should the turning circle be exactly the same when going left or right.

I think everyone should go out and wheel their bikes in circles (left and right) measure the turning circle and report back here with the results!

Ok guys, here is the difference lock to lock as measured from the frame to fork leg.

Now further checking my steering lock does not align in the correct hole ! When I've used the lock I turn the bars full inwards, you can see where its been sitting at the end of the stop. But it does not align in the hole in the stop.

Can someone please check to see if yours locks in the hole, I'd appreciate it.

Thx D
