Can be ordered through yoru local BMW dealer, just give him the part numbers quoted earlier which cover the winglets, screws and washers.

All you need then are 5mm locknuts and some lager washers to distribute the load over the plastic of the beak.

Just fitted mine, took about 30 minutes.

And the verdict is......

......a definite improvement... I've only tested them for a total of just under 70 miles so far and never at speeds in excess of 100 mph.

However, I think the winglets....I've also heard them described as Gurney Flaps......that's after Dan Gurney y'know, it has nowt to do with growling at badgers ....have finally cured my vibrating Tour X peak problem. At its worst this would hit the resonant frequency of my skull and my eyeballs would begin to vibrate, blurring my vision just when I was most in need of it.

Because I've fitted them with the standard screen, albeit with a Laminar Lip, I've had to install them slightly further back than what I suspect is the optimum position, so that they don't fret against the lower rear edges of the screen. My guess is that they'd be even more effective if they were in their intended position, about half an inch further forward.

Have to echo Schtum's comments on the "benefits" of the winglets or whatever they are called, fitted them this morning and went for a run this evening to try them out, definetly provide an additional ara of still air and a musch smoother ride.

I have them fitted in conjunction with the MRA Vario screen and am very pleased with the result.

I had a look at the GSA demo at the dealers when I collected them this morning and managed to fit mine in a similar position to it. I found if you feel under the beak you can find the rebate for the cut out for the additional accessory sockets and the edges of the winglets fitted in line with the end of the beak and the join with the black plastic trim place them with this about cental of the cut out in the perspex.

They're just very slightly aft of where you've fitted yours, overlapping very slightly over the front of the tank panel.

I checked for the rebate for the auxiliary electrical sockets as well and the cutouts in the winglets would still allow for them to be fitted.

If I'd fitted them further forward, they would have been just a bit too close to the rear, lower edge of the standard screen for comfort. I've already got that set as low as my Motorrad Concepts GPS mount will allow.

Might fit the stock screen later next week and see how they work out.

Oh yes, they are fine at 100mph, well so a little birdy tells me

My wings are in the same place as yours. I needed to saw a little off the bottom corner my N Normans tall screen- because if it were to drop back- it would just catch the winglets.

I too have a vario screen and was debating whether to fit the winglets, but after seeing your post and photos fitted them yesterday and as Schtum says The verdict is a huge

Blasting along yesterday afternoon and was well cocooned from any blast especially on the upper arms.

They look similar, if a little different at the front. Oh and they're also about 11 quid cheaper than the OE BMW ones.

Great idea though I'm impressed how much difference you guys recon they make. Might try them for the winter. Just pisses me off at how much we have to pay for things in the UK.

Don't fret. That US price was a discounted price. Most dealers do not deiscount their parts here, and my set cost me about $60.00. I could have mail-ordered the discounted set, but shipping would have eaten up the difference, and I like to spend a little now and then at the local shop.
