Morocco 3rd Party Insurance

I have been on to Devitts and NIG today as well - very unhelpful. They are telling me that because I am going on to China after Morocco they can't cover me in Morocco - doh?

Carole Nash / NIG fully comp insurance one week in Morocco £18 green card arrived today and CN customer services confirmed I have fully comp whilst there.

IT seems it depends on who you speak to at Carol Nash.
I rang them and they would only cover me for Third party only at the extra cost of £18 for 2 weeks.
They told me that none of thier policy's would cover a bike fully comp in Morocco

I've now spent a few days phoning all the usual suspects to ask them about third party insurance in Morocco and talked to them about the various insurance companies. Amazing the amount of mis-information you get from the young folks at the end of the telephone line and as for their knowledge of geography, well!!!!! Morocco is in the EU, the Middle East, Africa or where????

The only insurance company any of them came up with that would cover Morocco was Norwich Union - Carol Nash - but as their quote was £470 higher than my current insurers - NIG (who won't cover now despite doing it twice for me last year) - I'll be buying it at the border in future.

Third party insurance is available at the border for £20 I believe. However if you are insured with Carol Nash they will send a revised Ins certificate which includes cover for Morocco for nowt.

it seems to depend which company you get through carol nash.
equity redstar are cheap but no morocco cover.
norwich union seem you cover it but are 60 pounds more

so not clear how to proceed

I went to Morocco last year and had much trouble / crap info from brokers. In the end took out cover with Norwich Union, it was fully comp cover with a Green Card that said Morocco on it.

Did it through these people, Equity Insurance Brokers, they are on the Isle of Wight. Tel 01983 754252.

Cost me £30 for about 3 to 4 weeks.

I just my green card through from BMW/Devitt - free of charge but 3rd party only - does cover Morrocco.

I phoned BMW/DEVITT the other day and they said "as it's not a BMW trip I would only be covered for third party" but to phone near the time of going, for my card.

well my insurance was up (multi bike) so I went for the Morocco option

as I am there this September for three weeks ish

anyhow called carol Nash no cover for Morocco if I went with

equity red star cheapest

Norwich union would cover but £129 more expensive

called Devitt Nig would not cover Morocco cheapest again

So it looks like the border control will get my money
