Morocco Adventure 2016

Have good one. Wish I was going with you.

I think I'll use roll bag rather than soft luggage, keeps my packing down to a minimum.

Bin bags. It's the way forward.

Also I managed to stow some tools on the bike, got to love cable ties. I know we've been advised to take our own tools etc.. but I'm taking a small compressor, two large tyre levers and a bead buddy. It makes no sense taking 24 tyre leavers and 12 compressors, so if you need to use mine you are more than welcome but I hope you don't have to. :D

I'm impressed with the reduction in gear did you have to go through therapy to do that :D

New bike/engine does it burn oil?

Therapy ! You have know idea.

Apparently not, spoke to Martin at Torque and he says typically they don't burn any oil, he said it should be good for 2-3k miles without needing or changing oil.

I'm travelling naked compared to last year !!!! But we learn from our mistakes. needed less than 50% of the stuff I took.

Spare bike key
See you all Sunday 3rd for :beerjug:

Insurance

Rang Carole Nash a couple of weeks ago about my green card, she wasn't there so spoke to a 12 year old retard working to a script that didn't have the words "Green Card" on it, "sorry sir we can't give you a green card on this policy".

Rang Carole Nash again today, she still wasn't in (lazy cow), it was like ringing a different company. Guy knew all about green cards, it was sorted in 20 mins, he's even emailed it to me rather than post it. Cost £75.23 Sorted !!! :D

Date Error

I've made an error on the bike pick up dates. It is Thursday 31st March not Wednesday 30th as I said in my post.

Really it's the fault of Pope Gregory XIII, if he'd had 30 days in March and not 31 we wouldn't have this problem. But then to be fair I'd have still got it wrong. :nenau

FIXED:
I thought I'd post it here as well as texting each of you so I know that we all know what's happening:

Thursday 31st March I leave the North East and pick up the van from JohnBailey (Cheers John, propper Tosser discount). I'll load my bike and head to Brian.

Brian I should be with you around 2pm, load your bike and head to Dave.

Dave I should be with you around 3pm, Dave you're tavelling with me, we both head South to Essex. We should get to mine around 8pm all being well. Spare room all ready.

1st April we drive to Toddy's.

Paul we should be there around 11am load your bike. From there we head to Portsmouth arrive at the ferry terminal around 2:30pm
Ferry leaves at 5:30pm.

The return trip will be the same in reverse. We dock Portsmouth 19th April 14:15.

Paul we'll drop your bike off first. Then drive to Essex, Dave you stay at mine then the next day I drop you off, then deliver Brians bike, take back the van to Buzz hire, load my bike onto my trailer and head back to the North East.

Sounds like a plan. What could possibly go wrong with that !!

Interesting you take a spare tyre. Is this because you will do a lot of miles, ease of change or because current one is low and due to be changed ?

I was travelling overland so no ferries, the rear tyre was close to needing a change. I changed it after the first week. also I found that I was averaging around 4,800 miles on a back tyre using Conti TCK 80's good tyres but a bit soft, really easy to change on the GSA I found. The one I took off had a bit of life left on it so in the next town I called into a tyre shop (shed) and gave it to the man there, he was happy.
