Morocco HUMM May 2015

Hi Gents

I'm back- I've been in Mexico for the last 3 weeks and haven't been around many wifi spots. Pete has emailed me the info about the meeting that you guys had on Sun and all sounds great.

The roadside mechanical course sounds good I'm going to see if I can join in with that ?

Gents, Just for information, I have just dropped a powerpoint slide into the dropbox account with some useful screen shots from the March Moto Madness website so that you can see what its all about as I know some of you have had difficulties accessing the website. I must say, it all looks quite relevant if anyone can find the time to fit it in.

Hopefully everyone now has access to the dropbox folder and you should be able to edit the files as well. I will revise my timeline over the weekend too and put that in. Let me know if you have any issues.

Pete

I like the look of the Moto Madness weekend, some relevant talks there including map reading and first aid. I could find nothing about price though, where did you see £65?

Got it, thanks Pikey. I may be being dim but I still cannot find a link to that faq from the home page.

It's on the top navigation bar under "Stuff" all those links on the bar seem to be related to the meeting, hover over them and it will give you further page options.

Who's going to the Malvern Hills meet?

Made other plans this weekend. Heading up to Norfolk for a spot of wild camping to try out some of my kit and check out where I am moving to in a few months. I say wild camping, in a privately owned mini forest more like.

Evening Gents,

I have updated the timeline sheet I originally produced and changed the orientation so that it now scrolls vertically. I have uploaded it to the dropbox folder. I have randomly selected some destinations just to give us an idea of distance and timings. They are by no means set in stone. We discussed points we want to aim for and so I have loosely input a route but I know it will most certainly evolve. The second tab within the spreadsheet you will see some pictures of some of the highlights I hope we get to see. Feel free to chop and change as you see fit. I was just bored.

Just been talking to a few intrepid travellers and their advice is to stay well away From Cueta if you want to save yourself headache and delays, so the three of us will be heading to Tangier. This also seems to be the synopsis of forum members who have recently crossed over to Morocco, one saying it took just 15 minutes to gain entry.

I'm inclined to agree with you Pikey, there is overwhelming evidence to suggest we should ditch the Ceuta plan! I've amended the 'HUMM 2015 Itinerary' in Dropbox to propose the outbound journey to Algeciras - hope you all agree?!

Not me either Pikey - its Mothers' Day weekend and i'm having my Heineman KC60 Scout tyres fitted!

If you will be doing a lot of "off road" riding on your trip, the best tyres would be Michelim Desserts or TKC 80's.
If your going to cross from Algeciras make sure you book the ferry to Tanger Med port not Tangiers
You should have come to the ABR meet at Malvern and joined the off road ride, I did the guiding and could have given you a lot of advice on your trip to Morocco.

Who's going to March Madness????

I'm thinking of going along for the weekend, but I reserve my final decision until I see what the weather is going to be like. I don't fancy a weekend camping in the rain. :-)
