Hi, I,m going to be crossing over to Morocco on either 10/11th next month, and back to Spain on the 22nd will be riding a 1992 BMW R100GSPD and this will be my second trip to morocco, just wondering if anyone else in the area around that time? as it would be nice to ride with others for once.

Alex

May be interested ,how are you crossing, are you camping, not a fast rider so what speeds do you travel at. Also do you need Visa etc?

Hiya Cringe
I'm heading down for a crossing to Morocco around the 9th, hopefully meeting up with DK who'll be down that way already. I'm returning to southern Sapin to meet up with a mate then family in the area on the 19th.

As to riding speeds? I'm happy to blend with whatever others want, no pressure. It's my first time in the country so am happy just to relax and see what all the fuss is about.
Steptoe has advised not to prebook for the ferry from Spain to Morocco, just turn up and haggle. As he's done this a few times before I'm content to take his advise.
The route is also flexible, DK will likely be cutting loose after about 6 days, I'll be ten ish.
Planning to use cheap/moderate priced hotels.
I've been through "the knowledge" on the forum about docs and such like and no visa required.
Let me know if you want to hook up, the more the merrier.
Cheers

What ferry/date/time have you booked ,maybe we can meet up as about to book ferry Santander soon. Chris

Hi Chris, be good to have the company.
I'm booked on the 4th , Portsmouth - Santander.
They said there were not many places left, so call them if you want to book and they might find a slot over the phone if the website might says no.
I've got a recliner and will kip on the floor, saves about £100 or so.
I'm stopping off at my brother's in Andulicia for two nights then on to meet DK for the Morocco ferry on the 8th.
You'de be made more than welcome if you want to stay as well.
pm me if you want more details/meet up / or whatever, and I'll give you my number.

Sorry for the late reply, been a hetic few weeks getting the GS ready.

Taking the ferry from portsmouth to Bilbao on 7th october arriving the following night of the 8th so will be ready to cross over to morocco on the morning of the 10th.

Will be camping mostly with the odd cheap hotel stop, will be looking to do quite alot of offroading around the atlas routes as l did most of the south last year on the GS but am felixable.

Any ideas were to meet up in Spain/Morocco if our paths are crossing?

Hi Alex.
As above, the only definite arrangement I have at the moment is meeting up with DK on the 8th. He finishes the Tejeda thing (http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=256929) on the 8th and is talking about "chilling " at the end of it, so dunno when exactly he plans to cross to Morocco. I'm hoping for the 9th, to return the 19/20th.
I'd be keen on doing some offroading or at least get off the beaten track. I'm not taking camping gear as I'm lead to believe that hotels are too cheap to bother about camping.
Pm me for a phone number if you want to think seriously about getting together for part/all of the ride.
