While perusing the thinternet this morning watching the sun rise, listening to the dawn chorus, and dog snoring I found what I personally believe to be the most expensive light set up for the 1200GS.

BMW R1200GS - Projector Lights, Xenon
It's the difference between night and day! These accessory lights for the R1200GS feature diecast magnesium housings protected by a steel cage. Operational voltage is 25,000 volts. Hookup is easy and uses the existing wiring and the turn signal cancellation switch for activating the lights.

Now I'm guessing from the description the lights themselves are Hella Xenon spots similar to the Micro DEs and I know they are an arm and a leg in the UK but the price of this kit is £833.99

Anyone tried it yet? :augie

yep that's got to be up there with the most expensive 1200 light set up ever.

You mind telling .... who is selling those?

Comes with half share in company and two nights with Miranda Kerr - at least it should for that price. Surely that's a typo:mad:

Saw a pair last Sunday- I have to say they look great and can be adjusted while mounted (as they say). Price is staggering and the real off-road GS boys (.02% of us) say they're rather vulnerable in the event of a topple.

what do you think about the positions of the two ballast of the two xenon kit?
I have this problem. I've thinked to put them into the beak near the fairings of the tank. One in left side and one in right side
My fear is that in the positions that I have thinked, there are the tubes for cooling motor oil, and they can damage the ballasts.

Here's where I fitted the ballasts of my Hella fogs. I couldn't double-up the ones I'd fitted for the headlamps and mounting them on the tank has worked out rather well.

many thanks
but how did you mount ballast directly on the tank?

Gave the tank a wipe with thinners to de-grease the plastic, then used super sticky velco tabs from Halfords. Been on a couple of months now with no problems.

Surely that's a typo

I have one Touratech HID (with a normal halogen to match it). The current price for the HID kit is £344, i.e. £688 for a pair. This kit has the big ugly cages around the lights plus the autoswitch (Touratech don't supply a switch, they just come on with the main beam) so although bloody expensive the price probably compares with the competition.

Unquestionably the most expensive light setup you can get for a 1200GS is the one it comes with, had to pay almost £10,000 for mine!

Got a nice bike with them, though.
