MOT Tomorrow, with Akraprovic?

I am seeking advice for this....GSA goes in for MOT tomorrow morning and I have fitted the Akro end can with no baffle (ebay purchase)

Will it pass with this on, or do I need the standard fitting back on?

It may get an advisory for `slightly loud exhaust` or something similar.They only take 10 mins to swap. Is it worth not swapping it?

Friendly MOT man = Pass
Jobsworth = Fail

Its as simple as that. I recon you have about an 80% chance of passing unless you know the tester then you will pass ok.

Take the baffles with you, but don't fit them.

I do this with my technically illegal off road number plate. (I take a legal plate with me and say 'do you want me to put it on?' 'No ... don't bother ... ').

I do not have the baffle for the exhaust. It was an eBay special....

To change the exhaust,it is the pain of having to remove all of the pannier mounts on the GSA.

I will chance it and see what happens......fingers crossed!

There's no need to remove any of the pannier mountings. With a bit of wiggling and care with your knuckles you can swap these two over really easily.

Keep the mot man/ woman sweet
Either put the baffles in or put a standard can on
Then swop over once back home
If they fail it for excessive noise then may decide to try and find other problems

Got 1200 with Akro 3 tests no mention.No emission test done, as long as its not falling off or dangerously mounted (tied on with wire) should not be a problem. Had some seriously loud bikes tested over the years and only comment was "that sound nice". Give the bike a good clean check the stuff like tyres, lights etc and testers usually only start getting "picky" if you turn up with a shity bike with obvious stuff wrong.

Mine has a y piece so has no cat and baffle removed and never had a prob.

Wee tip- book the last appt of the day and they are always in a rush home so barely give it a glance

The worse you'll get is an advisory. A boxer, even with an unbaffled Akra, ain't exactly loud is it!

Just don't ride up to the MOT station with a fist full of throttle. When i had my KTM, I would kill the engine 100yds up the road and coast in

I suppose it all depends if your MOT station and tester is "Sensible" or an arse/jobsworth.

My favourite one is sensible.

PS. If you have servo brakes, then you only need the ignition ON. You don't need the engine running..

Passed!!! No mention of the exhaust....just commented that he had always fancied having a GSA..
