Motarrad Wheels

BMW Auxiliary Stand

It's a bit fiddly to fit - especially if you have Remus headers (tight fit) - and heavy, it also takes a real good heave to get the bike up onto the stand as it lifts the bike up a fair way.

On a positive note, if you are changing both wheels then it is the only single-stand option.

For general maintenance, I use a rear paddock stand - much simpler to fit and use, and only use the BMW stand for wheel changing from the dirt to road wheels. I have various motocross-style stands that fit under the frame but the HP2 is far too heavy to lift onto these!

Hope this helps!

Cheers, Rick.

Phil,

I use a Micron rear paddock stand - about 70 quid if I remember - but you have to machine your own spigot as they don't do one to fit the huge hole on the rear axle! Doddle to fit and use.

The Beemer Aux Stand is not cheap if I remember - think it was about 150 quid. Very well made bit of kit though. Have a chat with your dealer and see if they can do much discount. It is classed as a workshop item not a 'customer' part so not sure how that will work out.

Cheers, Rick.

ps. See you at the Cambrian Rally in Oct? My shoulder is just about healed after the op following my dismal performance at the Red Kite at Easter!
