Not sure how Moto Guzzi's warranty compares to BMW, but anyone thinking of modifying their MG might want to watch this 1st. Personally I think he's covered under the sale of goods act 2015 so his dispute would be with the dealer and that's the route I'd have gone down, but what do you think?

Watched part of it. Why isn't he calling the Moto Guzzi Assistance as it is a new bike? I have a 2 year warranty that includes 2 years of pan-Euro X assistance. It's operated by Europ Assistance

Plus I agree, this is not a warranty matter, it is a claim under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (not SoGA) against the supplying dealer and any bank involved such as credit card deposit or finance. I skim read the comments and did not see any mention of this.

While I can sympathise with this blokes bike breaking down I really wouldn't want him around in a real emergency.

Bike breaks down. Daylight, no rain. Not in the middle of no-where. He has a mate with him. A mobile phone and a signal. Guzzi assist. AA will come out for £75.00. Mate of a mate has a van. Dealer on tap the next day or so.....and he's whining big time 'I don't know what to do - I don't know what to do' FFS !!!

We're meeting up on Sunday - 07:00 and setting off promptly. Is he the one who turns up with an empty tank ???

How on earth do these people get by in life ????

I've watched this before , I'll rewatch it tonight .

BUT i don't touch bikes in the 1st year of warranty , i don't film it , modify it and poke it up for all the world to see .
Piaggio have computers and internet ! shock ! horror !
i will give my thoughts later.

so , inside the warranty period he ....
messed around with the bodywork
changed the silencers
re-mapped it
changed the engine inlet velocity stack
and stuck it on YT.
twat .

you at least get the running in done , before you modify anything.

1200Sport.com ( now dead )
a bloke posted on there about water in his rear light , came to me shouting warranty , did a claim , got refused , started shouting .
i had the thread poked at me from Piaggio , that he had injected water into it to make it look worse , to make the claim easier.

this was when i found out that Piaggio watch all the forums .

Just confirms that people are stupid/c u n t s/liars.
That makes it harder for the rest of us, so one can only conclude that these liars should be hung from the neck.

I will do the hanging, no problems with that if others are a bit squeamish. (y)

My thoughts too
Dramatically bigging it up for the camera

I can’t imagine any light tune and a change of silencers causing that sort of damage.
Especially running the bike in.

Would not be keen to pay that amount without a fight.

NOTHING that he has done , will cause that breakage .
BUT
i bet warranty excludes business usage , he is using it for business .

many years ago V11's were grenading clutches .
someone changed their output seal from the g/box , the clutch went bang , taking out the main crankcase .
warranty was denied , because he had worked on the bike himself.

this punter , should have insisted that the noise was investigated , he didn't .
half the blame is with the dealer for not looking at it .

for me ( when i was a dealer )
did you buy it from us ?
have i serviced it ?
has your dealer stopped doing MG ?
even if the answer is NO ,to the above, it wouldn't stop me doing a claim .
25% of my turnover , was warranty work .

it used to take me 3-6 months to get to grips with a new warranty system , every time they changed it .
if he has a shite dealer .....
this is why i was used as a dumping ground by Piaggio , for guzzi warranty work , that other dealers couldn't handle.
i think my furthest job came from North Wales , and i was in London.

You can't really be surprised that the dealer/manufacturer pushes back when you've remapped the bike and added an aftermarket exhaust.....nob
