Moto Piston Rally Picos October 2011

Shady's gonna love that :blast

He managed last year (as did we all) ;)

Is it true that the 5000 curves rally is secret until the morning of the rally?
Trying to get the route for the gps, etc but these bloody spaniards dont answer the emails...

Oscar, I have last year's route, apart from the Start & finish points I wonder if the route will be much different :nenau
I think I would prefer to ride this route when the old bikes from the Rally are not doing it, empty roads :thumb2

why do you think they invented The Inquisition?

been doing a bit of packing. i seem to have a tank bag full of tools, tubes and spares

All you need is one of your GS pannier liners for clothes strapped on the rear rack and job's a good 'un :augie

The buffet breakfast included in the price you have already been quoted will be;

fresh bread - pan
bread for toast
good quality cereal such as musli and fruit and fibre
fresh fruit
fresh orange juice (not from concentrate)
yogurt
tea and coffee

sounds better than last time, for no extra :)

Cooked to order breakfast will range from 5 to 12.50 Euros and you can have any combination, the price depends on what you want. For example, scrambled eggs on toast up to a full English - bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, fried bread, beans.

Sounds good :thumb2

Have you got the route done on Garmin Johnny?

Will try and post route on here before the off ;)

Expect me there about midnight :D

No good nominating you for the first round then :blast
They are mountain roads so average speeds will be low :thumb2

I'm booked into a hotel in santander.

ETA is thursday evening if the guzzi runs to plan. :D One bag strapped onto the rear rack. :thumb

Then off to portugal and cadiz, and a long run back home

Best not to talk in terms of ETA and bags strapped onto rear racks in that part of the world :augie :D

The Torbay Chapter (Banksy & Ralphy) are off tomorrow on the Plymouth boat, going to be somewhere just over the French border for a few days and then coming to Potes on friday. Will be meeting up at some point hopefully for a ride, meal and a few beers.

Well ime getting exited, dont know about anyone else:thumb, as mentioned ime on the Wednesday mid day ferry, I am intending arriving in Portsmouth for about 9.30 - 10.00 and having a nice breakfast at a little cafe less than 200yds away from the ferry port on the road leading to Whale Island.

Spent most of the weekend going over my bike, cleaning and checking everyting, its now loaded and ready for the off at at 0530hrs on Wednesday morning.

Bay of Biscay is looking fairly calm for the crossing :thumb2 so won't be able to blame the swell for swaying at the bar
