Motobatt gel batteries/

I need a new battery and have seen the motobatt gel batteries has anyone used these as they seem a great price and cant stretch to a top of the range gel at the moment.

two friends had them on their bikes and they seem to hold a charge quite well whilst stood in the garage without the need for an optimate trickle charger.one said his bike spun up better/faster as well.the double post set up was good for adding accessories too but you might need to find some longer bolts for one side depending how your battery fits because they only come with one set of post extenders.hope this helps

Both bikes on Motobatt. I used to sell and fit plenty of Odyssey batteries. So far, given my experience the Odysseys are not worth another £45-50 despite doing a good job.
Downside is the terminals are often handed wrongly for the bike that needs it, so the left or right handed Motobatt wins.
On my GSA I regularly had hassles after fitting HiD lights with LAMPF showing whether it was a hot or cold start. It always lit the fog lamps (also HiD) but often needed to restart after a few miles to light the dipped headlamp. A pita at night.
Never a problem starting the bike, but since fitting the Motobatt I have never seen a LAMPF warning.

I just bought a Yuasa (YTX14-BS) from Shield batteries (uk wide) for the very reasonable sum of £45 inc VAT
I've seen these listed at motorcycle shops for £130!!
Why pay more?

The yuasa is the one that is us on my bike at the moment and its less than 2 years old , it went flat during the winter and has been lazy ever since so thought i would try a gel with a bit more oomph.

14 amp hour capacity......the BMW one is 19ah I think, and many are around with a 21AH rating

it'll do the job, but not as well for as long (in terms of cranking over a hard to start bike I mean)

Odyssey 535 sorted out a few intermitent lights, niggles on my '04 GS.
May be expensive from motorworks, but what price peace of mind?
