motorcycle Wild camp?

You can wild camp anywhere on dartmoor,no open fires and you will be fine. There lots of little tracks of the roads you can take the bike down and camp.Get any good OS map and you will find them.Water is no problem lots of springs around you can drink straight from these, just have a wonder up a few metres to ensure nothing dead there!!
I wild camp many times, with and without clients, use the motorbike and mountain bike.Never had any problems, usaully use a one man tent leave the bike to the elemants, however a few guys hook up a poncho to the bike and sleep under that.
Enjoy

Out of curiosity, where is your 'field' as I can PM you a suggestion in the lower Peak District?

My field is pretty much Wakefield but I play in the Peaks when climbing/walking etc. Don't mind Lakes either. I wouldn't go as far as Scotland but a couple hours travel doesn't bother me. Not actually explored the dales much for some reason.

Thanks

Arrive late, pack up early and you will be ok camping pretty much anywhere "wild" with a little common sense. Minimal footprint tent/bivvy is the way ahead as you can fit onto the smallest of areas then.

Anyone ever had any confrontations or bad experiences when wild camping..?
No, never.
If you are a bit dubious about getting away with a location you can always ask the local farmer. They usually don't mind for one night for one or two people...

Never had any problems wild camping, even before it became legal up here.
Adam has it spot on. Arrive late, leave early. Use some common sense.

If you do ask, I find a good tip is not to say "Can I camp here". Rather ask" Is there anywhere nearby where I would be ok camping?".

Almost invariably the answer is positive.

Out of curiosity, can anyone camp on common land?
I've seen the odd tent at the roadside in areas of Yorkshire when riding
