Here.
Went in today to see an 09 HP2S they have.

Why on earth are they still in business????????

The place has weeds growing outside and is looking rather tawdy to say the least.

And then I went INSIDE..........oh dear.......

The bike in question is sitting on a plinth, pride of place and with a mirror showing the gleamin(not!!) under carriage! Rather a poor show that they could not present it at least clean and polished!

So after 15 minutes looking over it and not one offer of help or assistance I realised what the problem was..............

They have a new sales manager.

Vines of Guildford again it is then! Now, where did I put Duncan's number.....

Hmmm doesn't sound like the usual MC standards..

TBH as long as the workshop is still doing their normail good work then it won't be a problem for me.

Well,

I spoke to Alan Dalziel yesterday and he couldn't have been more helpful. Trading my current bike in with Motorrad East tomorrow.
I'd give him a ring and make him aware if I were you.
I know from previous experience that he takes customer complaints very seriously.

Bought my last 2 bikes from them and went back to buy a 3rd last year, unfortunately I think they had changed hands and I felt they tried to rip me off!! Needless to say I won't be buying from them again :tosser

Don't leave it there - give us details :rob

Just read this and in my professional opinion it's an easy fix:thumb2

Can't say anything about customer service as BMW's sell themselves anyway so I was told

Both east and west websites appear a bit neglected as well when it comes to news and events. West is still using last years diary as far as I can see. Along with the description given of the showroom it gives the impression of a business that does not know if its going to be here long term.

Here's hoping its temporary while new staff get their feet below the table. A real shame if they can't recover their old welcoming style. Both dealerships were nice places to visit and got my business even if they were not the closest or cheapest.

Perhaps a "relaunch" is called for!!

Hope they are good at servicing????

Had to book mine in for an early service due to trip abroad.
Took my number then didn't ring back, I rang back hours later and during transfering my call cut me off. Rang again to sort it and got a date but no idea on price!!!!
wrong guy was in charge of service dept apparantly.:augie

Would trust them as far as I could throw them.

Take it to Clarks at Dundee, never had any problems there.

They dont sell themselves, or else I'd be running about on an HP2S right now!

What IS really telling is that nobody actually called me back to try and sell me the bike!!

Maybe the wrong guy is also in charge of the sales dept :augie

However, looking to the brighter side my MegaMoto returns from service today.......it is being delivered back about noon! :clap

Looks like dealers are all having to be a bit pro-active to generate business with servicing discounts

I am going to need an annual in the next month or so for the first time because I have not done enough riding to need a mileage service this past year. I never thought of booking it anywhere other than MC (east or west) but if Clarke's were to come forward with some attention grabbing offer I might, for the first time in years, be tempted to give them a visit.

So what? MC lose a piddling little annual service you may think. The point is the last time I went to Dalkieth to book a 12k service on a GS I had the usual friendly chat, cup of coffee stuff and came out having ordered a new GSA.

From the tone of bits of this thread it looks like even if the bike goes to MC for the annual, which it probably will, I will more than likely just leave with a well serviced bike and no great feeling that my next new bike is in the showroom calling to me.

I was in Mottorad West last Saturday and there were certainly no shortage of salesmen around, though it was a launch day. Most punters that day seemed to be in cars and certainly interested in purchasing.

I have had my bike serviced at West once and East twice and happy with the service I received. Pricewise there is always negotiation ;) I did enquire last Saturday about servicing/MOT and received advice that I might be better off holding off as a deal is on its way :augie They carried EWS fix for me when I had a big trip with Skye coming up and I didn't want it breaking down in the middle of nowhere. Sorted a sticky throttle/heated grips problem on the spot and swapped out my FPC no problem. Also did a rear disc/pads fix quickly in my first few months of ownership.

Never had any problems with either dealership and always friendly when I visit. Get good tips about touring, events and different things from them. Miss their ride outs as I think the last one was the one up to Glencoe last year which was a great day out. I know there have been more staff changes recently so suppose its just settling in again.

I think the last thing I bought was a can of ACF50 but as I said when I bought my bike that I would pop in anytime I was passing and get a cup of coffee and after about 9,750 my bike would be Free :D Only another 8,999 to go. By the way they have a new fancy hot drinks machine and the hot chocolate is :thumb2

As Blackal said in another thread, none of us want dealers closing :(

I'm not too familiar with MC past or present but have had various dealings with Alan Dalziel when he was at Clarkies in Dundee. I'd be very surprised if things didn't improve drastically at Motorrad Central and ber equally surprised if AD wasn't monitoring comments and feedback here and elswhere and taking on board criticisms (and praise) and acting accordingly.

I've had nothing but good dealings with Alan Dlaziel and I may be a bit biased but he's nobody's fool and if MC is now his baby, he'll be doubly determined to make it work.
