Motorrad Bishopbriggs

I'm not too familiar with MC past or present but have had various dealings with Alan Dalziel when he was at Clarkies in Dundee. I'd be very surprised if things didn't improve drastically at Motorrad Central and ber equally surprised if AD wasn't monitoring comments and feedback here and elswhere and taking on board criticisms (and praise) and acting accordingly.

I've had nothing but good dealings with Alan Dlaziel and I may be a bit biased but he's nobody's fool and if MC is now his baby, he'll be doubly determined to make it work.

I hope so, I've enjoyed very good service from MC East in the past and love having them on my doorstep.....:)

I bought a bike from MC Dalkeith a few years ago, great to deal with, no problems.
recently been dealing with West for service parts etc. Parts guy is very helpful and they'll get you anything clotheswise to try with no obligation.
Service guy, forget his name, longish hair and rides an 1150 is ace!!!
Exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful.
I know Alan has just taken over and they have plans for the better, so good luck to them.:clap

In the interest of fairness and all that........:blagblah:blagblah:blagblah

I drove past Motorrad Central Bishopbriggs today and as well as the new signage inplace there appeared to be a couple of boys painting the outer facade!:thumb2

Now a certain employee of the place went to great lengths to tell me things were not as they might appear (well, he phoned someone to moan like fuck, who e-mail'd me so that I could phone him!!) so, seeing as they "dont participate in posting on forums" but they obviously spend an inordinate amount of time surfing the things :type, i thought I would do the decent thing and tell you all.........

Motorrad Central have painted the outside of the showroom!

However, are they just gold plating a shite.......?:toungincheek

Or is it a genuine case of turning a corner......?:bounce1

Who knows, but time will tell.

One thing worth pointing out though is that they STILL have not tried to even crack a light to a deal on the HP2S in the showroom.:nenau

Sorry tae burst yir bubble but someone told someone else who told me that if they sold an HP2S tae an ugly cnut they would loose the franchise:comfort

Seemingly it's in the contract small print, they may just be ignoring you so as not to hurt yir feelings.:augie

...so do we know who has left MC West? Or is mostly still the same gang?

I'd love to give you a name BUT THEY STILL HAVE NOT CALLED!!!!

HRH hit the nail on the head........they must have a quota of miserable fuckers and after he bought the GS it tipped over the edge :augie. I have NO chance of getting a deal then.:D

One thing is for sure they have a new sales manager, although if you are gonna call might be best to leave it until after the crack of noon.

The techs all still seem to be there and they ARE a nice bunch of guys. Names excape me but they all seem to have weathered the various storms that have rolled through the showroom!

Happy to help as always!

Before I bought my GS I spoke to a colleague with one about his 'extras' he had fitted.

He warned me not to go to Clarks cos they were a bunch of 'Cnuts' so I went to Motorrad and they ahve been good so far....

New ownership seems to have had a detrimental effect it would seem.

I actually bought my first 1150GS Adventure from Clarks Dundee and they were smashing! It was even Mr Dalziell! He actually sold me my V-Rod if memory serves me well (although there were a number of issues, one being they hadn't ordered me one!! :D and my salesman had left to work elsewhere)

However I bought all the other stuff from Jenny at Motorrad and she was super smashing! In fact, the day she left was a sad one for MC.

Then I crashed the HP and MC were smashing and repaired it in super quick time and it was perfect. The tech boys were superb!

But it all seems quite hit and miss to be fair, and it annoys me as they are literally on my doorstep. The last 2 bikes came from Vines Guildford (Ducan and his team are superb) and they even dealt with the out of warranty issue on the HP engine albeit with a little leverage from the solicitors! :D

Anyway. This is quite unfair and one-sided as MC "dont do forums".

I still want to buy an HP2S though!!

I've not had any service type dealings with MC East or West, but have enjoyed a test ride from each one.

My lad has an S Thou on order at MC West and I understand he has had reasonable service from a tall salesman who's name I can't remember.

I await joyous news of the delivery in the next 2 weeks. With bike at list price he cracked a good deal on extras like, can, screen and a set of crash bung thingies. Fingers crossed.

Maybe I'll try one of them for a major service later this year. Maybe not.

Its a pity they don't do forums. A bit of reassurance that they are in it for the long term would be reassuring. MC Websites still show nothing in the diary for this year or any attention grabbing offers.

So - what is the exact state of affairs, then?

Who owns Motorrad Central? Has it changed ownership?

Where does Alan Dalziel fit in?

Al

In the grand scheme of things does it matter who owns the place.

Bike sales are down to the salesman and the more he sell's no doubt the more money he makes.

Servicing has to be done to a certain standard.

Pricing down to BMW

Parting with hard earned is never a pleasurable experience:D

As far as I was aware, there's a new owner of MC, the East shop has some faces I remember which is great (the boys at the back who look after the stuff that matters) .....apart from that, it looks like normal business to me....:nenau ............

(never been to the West shop before, bit far when you have one 2 minutes from the front door)
