Hey people I'm new to the bmw badge having been in the honda stable for long enough.
purchased a shiney new R1200GS SE, which i picked up this morning :JB
fantastic bike and fantastic service from motorrad central.
not only were the free panniers supplied and fitted ,but i was given a £500 voucher which was duely spent on new riding kit.
looking through the riding kit there was loads of kit with upto 50% off.
fully kitted out for not alot of cash thanks to the heplfull chappies in the clothing.

swithering on buying an F650GS for the good lady too.
tempted further by the sales chap offering £250 voucher.

anyways got miles to do before 1st service ( and an excuse to polish it again.)

mike.

Welcome to the site and enjoy the madhouse.

And i can't see anything wrong with a new bike. Had my F800 at Easter and now Gomez waited til i was away with work and buys ANOTHER bike for himself, jeesh...you boys are all the same:augie

If your Mrs is short in the leg, can I suggest a F800R?

My other half had a shot of a lowered F650GS at the NEC last December and didnt really feel comfortable on it.

She tested a F800R with the standard seat and managed that ok, but ordered one with the lowered seat - which she loves.

We have just done a run to Ireland for a mates wedding (just over 1000miles return trip) and there were no complaints about comfort from her. She couldnt do 20mins on her GSX-R 750 without needing a stop.

the deals done.
1 red 650gs to be collected on wednesday.
along with a pile of new clothing ( not so bad as they still have their sale on )

My GS SE is going great!
fantastic machine and so chuckable. went on a weekend run with the sports bikers and to their suprise the old mans bike kept up and past afew!!

1st service time on wednesday too.
