Motorrad Concepts hugger problems??

My post's intention was not and is not to "dis" motorrad concepts... as my original post states, it was not an attack on Dutch or the company and I agree, they produce many quality products, and certainly from feedback i've seen throughout the forum, they are a company that takes customer care very seriously - which i agree should be applauded...

All that withstanding, I do still find it bemusing that in this particular case, the hugger seems to have some issues that could result in safety concerns, i make no apologies for my bemusement at people readily admitting to these issues, and in the same post praising the product.

Several posts have referred to "how wonderful it looks" by way of justifying how good the product is, my point is that surely it doesn't matter how aesthetically pleasing it is, or indeed how much muck it keeps off the bike, if it's causing a potential safety concern, it's not actually that good!

I'm sure Motorrad concepts will continue to develop the product, and i don't doubt the quality of their manufacture or customer service... but please don't try and convince me that something rubbing on your back tyre, or that requires brake lines to be "bent" is actually a "great product" a "masterpiece" etc...

I can only re-iterate, this IS NOT an attack on either Dutch, or Motorrad Concepts, it's merely my perception of the product not yet being quite ready for market, close, but not quite.

Apologies for any offence caused, it's not intended, but all i'm doing is using this public forum to air my concern over a product... after all, is that not what these forums are largely for, airing our views?????

:clap

To clarify, I was merely trying to be informative as to why people might be loyal to them. No drama intended.

I am now on my third Motorrad Concepts Hugger.

Let me explain.

The first was one of the original carbon fibre units which were recalled due to manufacturing problems. During the early stages in development of the second hugger Dutch and I had a conversation and he suggested they were going to modify the design slightly to accommodate the OEM shock protector.

The second was sent out when they had a new manufacturer and I fitted it without looking at the instructions and left the OEM shock protector in place, which then caused the hugger to rub against the protector.

I then phoned dutch to let him know what had happened, he said they decided not to compromise the hugger's design by allowing for the shock protector.

This was my own fault as I didn't look at the instructions but Dutch being Dutch could have a product out on the market with a flaw on it, so he replace it with out any question. In fact I went away on holiday and he sent out the replacement before I even got the damaged one off the bike.

Apart from that, it is a dammed good hugger

This is one of the reasons I will be sticking with their products for future bikes.
