As many of you are aware there have been various postings concerning Motorrad Concepts over the last few days. The remaining director of Motorrad Concepts, the remaining director from Baehr UK and the shareholders would like to make the following statement.

On the 28th May Chris Holland(Dutchman) resigned from Motorrad Concepts as managing director, resigned from Baehr UK and Motorrad Concepts Scotland as a director. Motorrad Concepts is in debt to outside creditors to an amount in excess of £60,000 and via Directors/Shareholders loans of approximately £140,000.

The actions of the managing director are not something any of the directors/shareholders fully understand at the moment or feel we can comment on publicly. We are just trying to sort out the situation and close things down in as tidy a manner as possible.

To the very best of our knowledge no Motorrad Concepts customer has been left without either the product they ordered or a full refund.

Motorrad Concepts, Motorrad Concepts Scotland and Baehr UK have no connection with Motorrad Central East/ West other than renting floor space from their Dalkeith premises.

The company is in no position to carry on trading and stopped trading from that date.
Since then the business has been winding down by moving out of the Dalkeith premises, returning unpaid for stock to suppliers and attempting to sell remaining stock with a view to repaying as much as possible to our outside creditors. We would like to state that none of the directors/shareholders will be receiving any of the monies raised from the sale of stock.

thanks
Denis Milne

In addition to the above statement and in the interest of clarity I would like to confirm that I am a shareholder and ex-employee of MCL and am assisting in the winding down of the company

Thank you very much for those statements, gentlemen. I'm sure that others will appreciate that clarification of the trading position of Motorrad Concepts as much as I do. It's nice to see such integrity being displayed publicly.

As a previous customer of Motorrad Concepts, I was always appreciative of the quality of the products which you supplied and of the customer service which you provided. It's a shame that it's come to this.

Me too. Hope it turns out allright, for those it should do so for.

Thanks for that statement.

In mid May I contacted Chris to explain that my Baehr Verso XL had stopped working following a fuse blowing on my bike. I replaced the fuse but the Verso won't work.

As agreed with Chris, I packaged up the complete unit in its original box complete with all the wires and sent it back to him by special delivery on 17th May. On Wednesday 23rd Chris telephoned me and told me the unit had failed due to the electrical surge and would need to be repaired or replaced. He said it would be sent back to the factory as a normal warranty claim as the unit was only 9 months old. He also advised that he would lend me a second-hand unit until the original unit was either repaired or replaced.

This was two days before the Rosedale GSer event that Chris was due to attend. I arranged to meet him at the event to collect the loan unit. When I arrived at Rosedale on the Thursday night, I was told that Chris had just cancelled and would not be coming. As we were in a field with no internet access, we could not see the various posts on here that started at that time.

When I got home last week and read the posts, I was concerned as to what would happen to my unit. I tried the telephone number in Dalkieth but got no answer. Finally, I emailed Baehr in Germany to enquire if my unit had been returned to them. If it had, I then hoped that it could be returned to me directly. Unfortunately, I have had no reply from Baehr Germany.

Please advise if I will get a repaired or replacement unit.

Cheers

Sid

Thanks for the Statement, Denis and Stumpy.

It's good to have something definite to read as opposed to rumour and innuendo. It's really unfortunate that matters have come to this.

I sincerely hope that the matter is resolved with some degree of benefit to your goodselves as well as the unfortunate suppliers.

Although, I'm not personally involved, I think you deserve a big pat on the back for your selfless work at trying to sort this out. It seems fairly obvious that you will gain very little (if anything) other than some thanks from this mess.

Bugger - I was about to order one of their Zumo mounts for a GS - they looked the best....:(

It sounds like it's more work going bust than it is staying afloat. Hopefully they'll be a Phoenix rise from the pyre as I'm sure there's a market out here :)

Just a thought, Denis Milne has said they have stock they are trying to sell off, why not post some details, as I'm sure there would be a few willing customers here.

I agree with Schtum, the quality of product and sevice from MC was first class.

all the best to the remaining guys at MC, hope you get things sorted out.:thumb2

Get in touch with MiGSel at www.migsel.com I am sure he can help you with a solution - he's using a Zumo himself these days.

My wee postscript

I too would just Like to add a brief personal note to the above Statement...

I was co-founder of the Company with Mr. Holland.

I resigned as a Director of MCL November 2005 although remained a shareholder until earlier this year when these were returned to MCL also.

It transpires that I am the sole remaining Director of Baehr UK Ltd.

Quite how I became a Director of Baehr UK Ltd. is unclear and is under investigation by the Compliance dept. of Companies House.

A couple of replies if I may...

Sid, I've pm'd you... those left dealing with the fallout will make sure you are sorted...:thumb2

PhilM....
Once we have a better picture of what's left, we will indeed be looking to sell off stock so "Watch this space" as they say...should be in the very near future.

sorry to hear

all the above. Anyway, if there is a R1150GS speedo sat nav mount lying around, i would gladly pay the going rate! nick

Mike,

I hope things turn out well for you and Chris. I always enjoyed the few brief interactions we had over the years. The two of you are good guys and I wish you the best for the future.

Zumo Mount

I wanted to get a Zumo mount as well but after a bit of searching I found one at Toutec Distribution in France. The sent me the English version of their website and provided a lot of help with very prompt e-mails with answers to my questions. There was even a problem with my bank and credit card payments but they sorted that out for me as well. I ordered the mount and it arrived about 5 days later. All in all a very good service and one I can recommend from experience.
