In praise of motorrade central Glasgow had a problem with my R1200GS
a few weeks ago with the ABS warning light staying on only to find that one
of the back break pads had broke up (not sure why as the other pad was fine)
but with a new set of pads everything seemed ok but the warning light came
back on last week. A quick tripe up to motorrad and they did a quick diagnostics
on the bike and found the front sensor was faulty and asked me to bring the
bike back on Friday to replace the sensor they replaced the sensor and the warning
fault would not clear after an hour they found a cable under the petrol tank had
chafed against the abs pump problem fixed.

Many thanks guys for a quick and effective repairer.:thumb

Good service seems to be a theme with this dealer. Check out my thread about a breakdown while on holiday the weekend before last. The got me back on the road next day despite their service department being fully booked!

Sorry, but after 25years of motor cycling can only describe them as the worst I have came across.
My GS went in for a 6000 mile service to make sure it was in excellent condition prior to going to Spain on a holiday that had been planned for a year.
They missed the brake discs at the front were warped despite having been road tested as part of the service, unfortunately this was not discovered until I was on the way to get the ferry, and for the benefit of anyone thinking that they had been warped by me prior to going on holiday, the bike had only done about 30 miles since being serviced when this fault was discovered.
To rub salt in to the wound I was told they had done a friends 12000 mile service for £80 as the workshops were quite that week.
However, on returning I decided to let them rectify the fault and took it over to them, after having a rant the bike was booked in a couple of weeks later to get a couple of other warranty jobs done to allow them to get the parts.
On the day the bike was booked in I arrived to discover they had only ordered the discs but not the other parts.
Again they apologised and told me they would call me later in the day to confirm if they would be able to get them the next morning and return my bike as agreed.
No phone call was ever received and due to work it was over a week before I called them and they told me the bike was ready for collection.
Over I went to be told the bike had been ready the previous week, they had forgotten to phone me, didn't seem to bother anyone the fact they were moving the bike about the workshop for a week.
At this I asked to speak to the dealer whose car was parked outside to be told he wasn't available, I asked for him to phone me regarding the quality of service that had been delivered, guess what....still waiting.
I am a firm believer that anyone can make a mistake and they opportunity to rectify their mistake and they failed miserably, it would appear they are fine if everything goes well but dreadfull when things go wrong.
My biggest regret with this dealer is giving them the additional warranty work.

:rob I must say I am most surprised with the service you didn't get.

I can't speak highly enough about the service I have received from John and his team, anytime I have had a problem they have always went the extra mile to sort it out and get me back on the road.

Im sure if you contact John and they will address all your concerns and get to the bottom of your troubles so they never happen again.

Mika,
I'm so surprised that you have a complaint about Motorrad Central. I have nothing but praise for John Dillon and the rest of his team:thumb2 .
My 1150GS broke down whilst on holiday in Scotland and because of the extremely helpful service they provided:clap I bought my new bike from them the following year.

...final post about Motorrad Central

To all the supporters of MC it will come as no surprise that having spoken with John Dillon personally, he has given me the confidence to entrust my bike to them for the next service and I look forward to receiving the level of service that plenty of you out there rave about, and the reason the bike was taken there in the first place!

Thanks

MIKA

You must admit, it is big of John to take the bull by the horns and address your problems in this public forum. I have no personal experience of the branch, but have it highly recommended to me by a couple of friends. I might just visit them, from Northern Ireland, for my next service and take out a loan bike whilst they toil over my wee baby.

Just another quick note about motorad Glasgow,
I found a small amount of play in my back wheel and traced it to the final drive. Took it in to the dealer for them to confirm the problem, ten mins later I was being asked if I was in a rush as they could do it there and then!!!!
It was a saturday and ladys open day! I was offered a burger and as much coffee as I could drink until my bike was ready to ride out.
This dealer will now get all my business!!!!!!!!!

The battery failed on my 1150Gs in Skye on Friday morning. I texted Ronno who got in touch with MC in Bishopbriggs and they put a new battery on charge for me. I arrived at 5pm to find the battery fully charged and ready to go. A very friendly and helpful bunch of people. :thumb2
