Motorway ‘blipper’ / smart tags - For ALL news, advice, how to get one and what’s best, irrespective of the country

Yes, I think these are more of a one off to prevent massive queues when thousands of bikes turn up at the same time

Never seen one personally and I’ve been around France a fair bit :nod

They used to open the barriers for the old Bol d’Or 24 hour bike race.

Great info everybody.

I have decided to go with Mango as their offer seems to be a good one. I want two tags, one for the car and one for the bike, slight issue is they require the vehicle registration for each tag and at the moment I can't give the bike VRN as I haven't yet replaced it since the accident in September. I'll go for one initially and I assume that it is possible to add another tag to the account at a later date.

The payment system did not accept my IBAN and stated that my bank does not accept SEPA payments, I have contacted my bank for advice but I guess I shall have to set up a TransferWise account.

It doesn't matter. You can change the registration of the vehicle its linked to in your Mango/Fulli account.
I have also loaned and used my unit in other cars. They don't seem to care and speeding tickets (x3 :D) were sent to the correct person.

Let me know if you plan to open a Transferwise account - I have a £75 introduce a friend link and can split it with you :D

I have applied for one, used my Starling Bank account Iban without problem.

if you only use one vehicle in Europe at a time, you only need one tag. It is very easy and free to log onto the website to change the number plate. You could even do it for a hire car.

Yes.

The reason I opted for two tags (bike/car) is because I’m lazy, but you can usually switch the plate associated with the tag, and is effective within the day.

I think you only need to associate the plate for Italian usage (Telepass is tied to the plate).

and Portugal where ANPR is used with no barriers. I think France is going this way with new roads.

Oh! Good to know.
No barriers, that would be good.

I always forget the barriers in northen France are older and operate in a different way than southern France and Italy.

Just as someone mentioned it: I normaly see the debits (Ulys) of French motorways in the app within 48 hours. The Italian bits take about another couple of days on too of that.

I set up a login yesterday Paul but as yet have not completed setting up the account so with a bit of luck the introduction offer will still work, let's give it a go.

my email is [email protected], let me know if you need any further info.

I've been trying to join up using the links you guys have put but all I get is this message

Which Translated (thank you Google Translate)

It's D-Day for Fulli!

Mango Mobilités becomes Fulli from today.

Your site is taking on new colors and should be available in the evening...

In the meantime the Fulli application is available for download on the app store and the play store

It is still named as Mango Mobilities on the app store at the moment

The French are planning on doing away with peage barriers entirely, though it won’t be happening tomorrow

What it will probably mean is:

A. A rise in demand for peage blippers.

B. The French having chase up non-French registered (plated) vehicles for payment, as it’s based (apparently) on a number plate recognition system. This is the same as the London congestion charge system, of course.

C. Things being quicker for everyone, travel wise.

No. Mango is rebranding/being merged into Fulli.

It was mentioned a few posts above as well.
You'd expect some services going offline for a while when they start merging them.

Just wait a day or two or use one of the other vendors.

Yes, not great. Also that status page... brrr :D

Ulys (the one I use) is working properly both site and blippers of course (just used the Italian motorway yesterday as I'm still in Rome).
Bigcats, if you need a blipper I'd try them too:

ANPR works fine in Portugal with my APRR, Mango, Fullifuckup or whatever it is called today tag. You barely notice you are going through a peage gate, as those who received fines in the post have testified.

Just had a look and have a couple of questions

Which level do you sub to? benefits etc you feel I should be aware of

Does one device work in France and Italy? as its not quite clear on the website that I can see? (though when I start the transaction from the wording I can add italy???)

I have the standard contract (Ulys Classic) + I added Italy as (being Italian...) I drive/ride through Italy quite a lot and need my blipper to be Telepass-compatible.

It is the same blipper for all countries.
As stated a few thread above, I ordered 2 separate blippers just because I'm lazy and I keep one in the car and one on the bike without moving the device around.

I successfully set-up the SEPA payments through a TransferWise Euro account (free apart from small fees when depositing money).
They will send you an email the week before they withdraw funds. I just dump some money on the account and it's all sorted.

I have a single device that works in Spain, France and Portugal. I could add Italy. I think most of these devices are French owned so the default would be France only then you add each country as needed during registration. I created an account with APRR which has changed the branding twice since so set-up might be different now. Currently, all countries are using the same technology for the barrier systems needing the TAG and radio signals from the gateway. Portugal and parts of France are using ANPR without barriers so ensure you update the reg. no on the website for each journey. This has been a simple process for my TAG using the APRR customer area, so hopefully resolved with the ongoing rebranding.
