i got a bip and go one which can do italy

took about two weeks in total to arrive

works, some of the older toll booths it takes a little time to register and you at the barrier when it lifted, one i had to wheel back slightly but it worked, the new tolls the barrier lifted as i entered
 
Just had an email from Fulli. My now very old tag needs to be replaced. Mine is an APPR branded one from 2018 and they have had 2 rebrands since then, Mango now Fulli. Old TAG will not speak to Spanish & Portuguese systems for much longer.

Anyway, logged onto https://www.fulli.com/en/customer-space and a new one is on the way free of charge. They will include an envelope to send the old one back. I was just starting to think the battery would be getting flat so was thinking of asking for a new one before a trip to Spain in May. Not likely to use a toll road unless it really pisses down.
 
If you are using the Austrian motorways a digital vignette is now available. These can be purchased on line before you travel or at service stations.

Yes.

At a guess, Eurotunnel have simply teamed-up with Emovis, as some sort of sales outlet. You can also buy it direct from Emovis. I haven’t looked to see which outlet is cheaper.

I'll push my luck a bit ... if I cross a border in to another European country, does it continue to work or, do I need something else?

As above #528.

That said, it rather depends on what you mean by “Another European country”. Austria has a completely separate tolled motorway system, as does Switzerland. Belgium and Germany has no tolled sections to speak of. The mountains of the Alps / Dolomites have some individually tolled passes, again separate.
 
Best place to buy a tag?
Guessing that more than one type needed if different toll operators?
 
Just for ease of use here's the web sites (in English) for paying the relevant operators and you can register with them in advance so that they'll tell you if you have a fee due.

Note that if paying on-line you have to pay the operator of the road you've used so it's much simpler for UKians to get a tag which covers all toll roads whether free-flow or toll boothed (we use Fulli but look for the one that has the best deal at the moment).

I do use both networks France and Italy frequently and use Ulys.
Have 2 tags (bike, car) works perfectly.

My two cents: even moving to ANPR it is handy to have the tag/receiver, at least in the car.
In a lot of parkings in France and Italy you can blip in/out using the tag (barriers will open automatically). When having a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side... it helps immensely. ;)

For our Fulli tag I can go on the app and change the reg no between bike and car - presume it's the same for the other tags. You don't need to identify car or bike the charging system does that automagically. When you pull up at a toll booth you can glance at the screen and it tells you the class of vehicle it's detected - car is class 1, bike is class 5.

Not necessarily. You can switch vehicles via the app.
I'm just lazy and don't want to move the blippers around.

France detects the class when you pass.
I think (don't remember exactly) Italy pays the same.
I had some crossings where the GS was classed as car in France. You can write them, but never bothered (wasn't that much).

This happens if you go through one of the lanes with a sign saying “Reservé” over the top and a no motorcycles symbol, they will always charge for a car

It’s easy done, I’ve done it plenty of times :blast
