Motorway ‘blipper’ / smart tags - For ALL news, advice, how to get one and what’s best, irrespective of the country

Got a link to get 5 euros off the emovis tag for France if of interest to anyone.

I did the last 10km today on the AP toll road into Pamplona. 2 euro toll. I had my unused replacement tag from Fulli in a sleeve pocket as advised. Didn't register. As the barrier had a gap I could squeeze through I proceeded without paying by credit card. Alarms sounded. Will I go to jail? Will they read my number plate and charge my account like the French?

Fulli is shite. And cnuts haven’t responded to either of my emails in English nor French.

I had a similar experience near Chalons on Tuesday as the reader wouldn't accept my credit card and the tolls were unmanned with pre-recorded French on the 'help' button. I assume I'll get a fine or whatever in the post? I'm off to France again in three weeks with an overnighter in Charlie Mez. Let's hope I'm not on their ANPR system or whatever.

Fulli responded to my email and my account was refunded with a week, as to account management fees, I don't seem to see any added though

I'm thinking of one of these on offer for my upcoming trip.

Anyone got one ? How long do they take to arrive, and how do you cancel if you no longer require it? (I can't seem to find it on the website)
Many Thanks

Moved.

I haven't got that particular one, I have a similar one from Emovis (plus a second one that covers Spain and Portugal). I was very dubious about it when first using it but it soon becomes second nature and saves queuing and paying (either to a person or with a credit card at a machine). I think manned toll stations are getting increasingly rare these days.

I've only used it in the car but I'm told it works just as well on the bike, where the technology establishes that you're on a bike not a car and charges you accordingly. I try to avoid autoroutes on the bike but never know when it might be needed, either deliberately or accidentally.

Mine has an annual fee but you only ay the management fee in the months you use it.

I recall tags taking about a week to arrive (Emovis and Fulli).

For Emovis, if you really want to cancel, you just post it back with your name and address (see screen grab). But if you plan to use the tag at least once a year, you probably shouldn’t return it between trips.

My Tollbird unit arrived as promised. They advised attaching to rear view mirror! Obviously as its a bike I cannot. Plan is to attach to back of Satnav as that's in middle of bike but may need to put it in a small plastic bag as the unit itself certainly does'nt look waterproof.

Important thing is that you keep the "back" (the part that would be glued to the screen of the car) face up, facing forwards.

Other options are to get one of those waterproof armbands that the fitness types use to take their phones and/or fitness monitors when out running. Also handy to pop your passport in when going through a ferry port.

Or just put it in an outer breast or arm pocket if your jacket has one. My Fulli tag (and I suspect all the tags are very similar if not the same) works fine in my outer breast pocket.

I wear a Knox armoured shirt with no pockets...so the armband idea sounds best. Thanks

They work fine in a jacket pocket, even lower down, no breast pockets on my Rev’it

Also work fine in the cubby at the front of the tank on a GS/A (y)

My emovis tag took a week to arrive from ordering, this was over a bank holiday weekend too
