When I bought my R100RT, the mot had an advisory, head bearings notchy. last year when I mot'd it, it had an advisory. head bearings notchy, front brake line under mudguard rusty.

This year............ straight through no advisory.I never touched the head bearings or brake line.

The DOT look carefully at the 'Pass', 'Fail' and 'Advisory' figures nationally and have a pretty good feel for what is 'typical' for a testing station. The testing station would do well to keep its figures within the middle somewhere to avoid drawing attention to themselves and the possibility of extra unannounced visits by the 'Men from the Ministry'.
