wheres the thread which mentions the correct motul oil for the l/c,ive looked but cant seem to locate it.

i use 15-50w motul 300v in mine, 5w-40 is piss thin..also i always start the bike let it tick over and never rev to get the temp to around 60 before setting off, takes 2 minuites

anyone who put in the highest bid! was castrol but now i think its shell

the bm stuff is nw shell,i thought that the motul oil had been used by forum members and had improved the gearchange
i had a recollection of motul 700 something but that could be bs

Improve the gear change? Just get a 2017 bike... ;-)

I use Silkolene 15w50 Pro 4 fully synthetic and have done for years. It was called something else about 5 years ago but same stuff.

Mine's a 2011 TC.

The new shell stuff BMW use is a 15w50 semi-synthetic - they put it in all boxer engines.

15-40 on my litre bottle of bmw shell advantec

thank you very much i thought it began with a 7:beerjug:

You're welcome. Just to be sure this is for an LC wet clutch engine. I know you said that in your post but there seem to be some other unrelated suggestions on the thread. It's also worth noting that I have been unable to verify that the 300v meets the JASO MA2 specification whereas the 7100v does.

yes l/c gs thanks again, not sure why people need to say what oil they use in their t/c hexhead in the l/c section

Er, no they don't. LC boxer engines take 5W-40.
