Mouse in my rear hub!!

Dunno if anyone has had this or if its normal blah blah etc etc.

800GS, 1300 miles, on centre stand, rotate back wheel slowwwwly... squeeky rubber sound. Spray lube at the bearing seal.. goes away.... for a bit..

Thoughts? Normal or not? Never had anything like that before..

Don't put it on the stand and turn the wheel backwards

Just thought,it could be a new fangled thingy.An audible warning for someone turning the wheel backwards

When you say spray lube at the bearing seal, don't be tempted to spray lashings of wd40 or similar spray lubes,for the sake of an annoying squeek (when you rotate the wheel backwards) they do a nice job in disolving the grease packed into brg cages.
You may find you end up with a squeek going forward..

Mine doesn't. The showroom one doesn't.

Its under warranty - I'm sure your local dealer will sort it out.

The world is full of squeaks ...... they come in all shapes and sizes and are mostly quite harmless

Was passing by Pidcocks today so took it in.

They had a rummage round and found no small furry mamals inside my rear hub, they went on to explain that 'it is not nor has ever been BMW policy to install rodents or any such 'elephant scaring' squeek producing beings into their wheels.'

Personally i think they have released it into the wild.

I had this - its the dust covers or something similar - they lube them at the factory but it wears out pretty quick. Dealer said it was this that need re-greasing done 5000 since and not so much as a squeak

Noticed mine doing that rotating the wheel backwards after your post but i opened up the rear brake pads off the disc and it stopped
