Moving to Devon

Down the stairs

Sidmouth ?? you're joking. Thats second only to worthing for the oldest population average due to the huge amount of retirement homes.
Gods waiting room.

Having said that, i used to ride over there to the Marine bars , lower bar for a beer or three. It used to be a very good pub, lots of foreign student action ;)
and loads of bikes outside.

In fact, i still have some strong ties to the place....

I recall being in the lower bar, when someone rode a Triumph Bonneville down the stairs!! which as a stunt was only topped by the guys who acquired a piano and stool from a pub at Woolbrook and pushed said piano and player down through town and into the lower bar, for a few tunes. The place was always popular and I remember it had "Space Invaders" when no one else did.....well it seemed cool when I had my FSIE anyway!

East Devon is closer

If you want to be closer to the M5, you want East Devon, the start of the "Jurassic Coast" and well populated with "Dinosaurs". Due to the number of drivers who got their licences driving ambulances in the Somme a "must have requirement" for any rider is a "stebel nautilus" horn and an HID kit is also highly recommended. The ability to "chew" is not mandatory, as most cafes in East Devon serve "pre chewed food for elderly folk" and wouldn't know what "a la dente" was, if a "firm courgette" caught them on the chin. East Devon does have good beer, IE Branoc Ale from Branscombe and Otter ale from Luppitt. So all is not lost. Avoid Budleigh Salterton, at all costs, for if Sidmouth is "Gods waiting room" then Budleigh is the "Annexe". It has been said that "People come to Budleigh to die and ten years later, they have forgotten what they came for"!
However, all joking apart Devon is generally great, apart from when infested with Grockles during the Summer, so a big thumbs up for "Glorious Devon":beerjug:
