So after thirty-seven years in London, we're moving to Budleigh Salterton in September. We'll probably bring the average age down in the area by a substantial amount! The house of our dreams came up, and we had to jump at it. The prospect of a five-minute walk to the beach and a new chapter in our life is very appealing. In addition, the house has a standalone annexe which we'll be AirBnb'ing and UKGSers will be very welcome.

I'm looking forward to meeting the local GSers out and about.

Regards

Jeremy

Health to enjoy this new chapter in your lives Sir. :)

I’m five miles further West, hope the move goes smoothly. You will need stout shoes/boots for beach walks in Budliegh though!!
A few other forum inmates down here and we have occasional get togethers at various cafes around Devon.

I had a holiday in Bd salterton once
rented a house right on the front, Swan house I believe it was called

I thought at the time what a lovely place to retire to so good luck and enjoy

Excellent.
How much grass you got? :green gri

What have riders' experiences been with the Exeter Motorrad service team?

Not good. The service seemed ok but when asked for advice re tyres and other stuff, they had no idea. No one seemed to have a background in bikes, just cars. I will go back to Bahnstormers in Alton next time. It's a nice ride and very good there.

Welcome to the west , another DFL :ROFLMAO:

Budleigh is luverly, nice beach and beautiful surrounding countryside. I'm a bit further east near Bridport.

No doubt we'll have another SW coffee and cake extravagance soon you'll be able to meet a few locals

That would be good. I missed the last one and it would be good to catch up with people. Any suggestions, anyone? Injury prevents me from a long ride, so nearer to Bridport (30 miles max) works for me. If it's further I will have to pass again.

Hi Derek, I can't organise anything just at the moment, my dad went into palliative care just a few days ago, that and looking after mum, funeral etc will take up most of August I'm sure. If I can make a coffee/cake playdate someone else arranges I'll be there :D

Hi O
The ‘Like’ emoji doesn’t quite fit but there isn’t a suitable other button.

Sorry to hear about your situation, I hope that all goes as well as it can for all of you.

Thanks for that tip. The West Country version of Goodwood and a fraction of the price .

No, not Invermay. I went to see that house but it was too far out of Budleigh. We found an 18th century house in the town and went for that. Three mins to coffee shop, four minutes to the Feathers pub, 5mins to the beach. It’s happened out of the blue and I’ll be commuting weekly to Ldn until i can transfer.

Not sure the nudist beach is ready for a hairy Irish man. Whenever we arrange the local get together on the beach perhaps we can call it Old Buffers In The Buff In The West.
