Right back to basics!, how can I get the music on my computer which I have put on from cd's. All I have on it is windows media player and I guess what
I require is a converter to enable them to convert to mp3 files?. Any help in laymans terms appriciated, (yes I am a fikko with these bloody things!) also I find there are a few "sampler editions of talking books on the 660 from new I guess how can I get rid of this crap?. Many thanks for any advice.
Dave GS (not a computer buff!).

Its been a long time since I did this but IIRC Media Player has a "Rip" function that converts into MP3 format. I forget exactly but I do remember I used Media Player and no other software to do it.

Had same problem. Got free I-tunes account and imported all my music (10,000 plus tracks) from media player into i-tunes which converted the lot into MP3

I agree, but

You have to go into the settings menu in itunes and change the default settings to MP3

Dave,
You need to have put (rip) the cd music into Windows media player as MP3. If not then, unless you have loads of music, it may be best just to re burn the cd telling it to use mp3 format.

Then just plug in your GPS using the USB lead that came with it, to the computor. press Sync button and choose the garmin fron the list. Press music, then albums. the music on the computer will then be displayed.
Drag and drop the music you want to the sync box on the right hand side. press sync.

Its all seems a black art until you know what to do, then its easy. If you would like I can pop over and run through it with you as I am just over the Dartford bridge (we met at Warren camp) Dave.
