Just bought an MP4 player 4g/b off of ebay new for about £45 .

Tried to use it ,for a start the little disc doesnt just load up I had to open about 5 folders on the disc & look for anything that looked like a download bit.
The PC recognized it as removable disc L .However when loading it from the disc one part would come up Virus trojan horse even with Nortons A/V disabled.
Anyway when dragging a picture or music track to L it would come up with the disc needs fromatting so I click ok to format then it comes back with windows unable to complete format :nenau
So buggered if i know any ideas & usually surely the disc should just load itself .
thanks for hopefully your help

disable norton while doing this, it's probably a fasle positive detection.

does the instructions/manufacturers website tell you how to reload it from scratch? Better to follow instructions than go formatting it.

When you plug the MP4 player into your PC what drive letter does it give it in My Computer? - It'll probably be something like drive E or drive F.
Click on Start, choose Run and then type cmd.
This should open a black screen.
Now type format e: (if e: is the letter your computer has given to your MP4 player) and press enter.
Now if the format fails this time it should give a bit of a better reason as to why other than just saying that it couldn't complete the format.
Post back here with what it says :)

format L is not recognized as an internal or external command operable batch program or batch file :nenau :nenau

cheers
