MPG How low can you go

Just got my 1200gs last week and was just wondering how good the fuel gauge is


This Weeks challange

Its done 196miles
and its showing 46 miles left

Can you beat it (anybody got to 0 miles left)

Hi everyone
Just got my 1200gs last week and was just wondering how good the fuel gauge is

Had my 1200gsa down to showing 6 miles left and then got 33.3 litres in the 33 litre tank

I now make sure I fill up at no less than 20 to 30 miles left to be on the safeside

Filled about 3km after it went to zero... Got 33.1 liters into it.
Had to do it once t osee what would happen!
Getting about 450km from a tank.
The indicator seems to drop to half full before 200km though.

After 407 miles i filed up my 1200gsa to the top
the reading on the pump was 33.05

Sure does 33 litres compared to 22ish on the standard 1200

I took mine down to 0 miles deliberetly to find out the fuel range.

No problem, I pulled on to the forecourt, opened the tank and shook the bike and I could just about hear the dreggs in the bottom!!!!

I then proceeded to fill it up withh 22.15 litres!!!!!

Its only got a 20litre tank according to BMW!!!

They lie

This was one thing i noticed when we rode down to spain, My 1150 has the ten bars, and i knew exactly what i had remaining, but my friends 1200, he, (we) were unsure of what exactly was left in he's tank as the fuel gauge is less precise.
