I've done a search on this and found nothing - what sort of urban cycle mpg would you reckon on getting out of an 1150GS?

I'm getting about 35mpg on the commute, stop start traffic, filtering. Not complaining just wondering if this is average.

Typical german. Bit lardy and drinks a lot!

I do cane it given a bit of open road/traffic light GP. But otherwise slow and steady in the heavier stuff. Maybe I have a heavy throttle hand.....

Getting rid of the cat improved my MPG noticeably.
When was it last serviced.Plugs, filter, set up TPS etc?.

I'm with Wreford Miles...I get ten glorious miles out of every litre with, typically, a mix of local bumbling around with a few longer runs at the weekend :thumb2

Checked today - 49mpg :thumb2

That's on a 70 mile daily commute with about 60 miles on motorway / fast A & B roads and 10 miles city roads.

Std 1150GS

8 mile urban and slow b road commute, regular over the Kingston bridge motorway (3 miles filtering) trip from Paisley to Bishopbriggs and back.

Tank filler neck modded so it's filled to the brim but 200+ miles before the light comes on and safe to 250 miles.

I don't hang around but do ride smoooooooooooothly, not on and off the brakes all the time.

Sad git that I am, I have logged my fuel comsumption over the last 12 months (since I bought the bike - 2003 1150GS) Done 10,448 miles - ave mpg was 47.8. At least half of this was going to work on a crowded M8, filtering and city streets.

Put on a pair of tourance tyres as soon as I got the bike - reckon I have approx 2000 miles left.

Cheers

Been getting near as dammit 52mpg for two years on a mix of 20 miles dual carriageway (70mph officer - really - was I? Surely not) and 10 miles of city traffic commute.

That's with no cat, K&N intake and filter, and a Steptoe mod in a pear tree.

I'll give it a right good servicing, stick my Remus can on and fiddle with the ccp and see what happens. I like to thrash it I think, is the main problem! ah well it's what it's for.

38mpg last week on single spark.

38mpg ain't bad for one plug :augie

10 miles per litre, or 50mpg. With cat. & std. zorst. Last rear Tourance that wasn't punctured:blast did 12,500. Bike got 28,000 miles on clock, original pads all round.

38mpg, makes my single spark getting 42mpg up and down country roads look good.

Gave up worrying about mpg a long time ago. If I use the BMW chip and plug settings I can get 54mpg, but it surges like a pig.

With a BBPower chip I was getting about 36mpg and very little surging. With the techlusion (and minor setting up of it, ie I did it myself and didnt spend ages doing it either), I get around the 42mpg (and no surging at all) and know it would do a bit more mpg if I wasnt so heavy on the right hand - but thats my choice.

Probably do a bit more if I spent more time setting up the techlusion. But I am happy with the mpg and power (and no back firing). The plug colour is good as well, so, if it aint bust ..........

Currently running about 47 on a 2000 model with 93000 on the clock. With better weather (ha ha) and longer runs, I can reckon on low 50's, but I'm a steady rider.
