just a quick question please

have read most of the threads but hoped someone could confirm please, i've got a MRA vario screen on order and believe that, as i have torbinators fitted already i DO NOT require the standard 1150GS screen fitting kit in order to fit the MRA screen correctly....?

current set-up below in pic

thanks :thumb2

You do need it:D

Adv and non adv tobinators are different.

MRA is for non adv

MRA

ok tim,

thanks

i will order the fitting kit - Motorworks will be the first call

i also read a good tip recently about putting your OEM screen through the dishwasher on a standard setting, apparently they come out looking brand new............:nenau

OEM screen washing

haha, yes - send me all your screens and i'll put them through my dish-washer and only charge you for the return postage......:augie

to be honest i think i read it on ADV rider and it was a post from an american chap..............:blagblah

hehe

Am I right in understanding, that a torbinator is an extension to lift the screen up?

Not sure you need to order a new fitting kit. I did the same job a few weeks ago. I have a standard GS and fitted an Adventure screen with Adventure Tobinators. It was a fairly good set up but wanted to try an MRA screen. I managed to fit it by removing the Tobinator wedge piece that acts as a spacer for the wider screen.

Here are the pictures........ it all went together nicely, no stressing of parts. :nenau

MRA screen

thanks for the info and pics, looks like you can do it with the original 1150 screen fittings & spacers without much "bodging"

will report back when ive completed it

anyway..........what did you think of the screen compared to the ADV screen & Torbinators?????

cheers :thumb2

:blast:confused::eek:
Wish I could tell you..... haven't ridden it yet, rear brake seized on on holiday and still putting it back together. In my defence I've hardly been at home the last couple of months. I'll let you know as soon as I have but I've a feeling you'll be telling me lol!

brakes

oh dear, sorry to hear that

hope you get it sorted, you're not missing much at this time of the year though really, roads are pretty grim - round where i live there is a distinct lack of termac on the roads.....:augie

ive done a bit of off roading recently on the GS and it's great fun, the knobbly tyres on the road help with all the massive holes too..........:blast

ADV TORBINATORS & MRA SCREEN

JUST COMPLETED THIS FITTING AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU WERE CORRECT CLIVE , THE OUTER 1150 SCREEN MOUNTS (WHERE YOU CAN SELECT DIFFERENT MOUTING ANGLES) ARE NOT REQUIRED, IF YOU ARE USING ADV TORBINATOR STORKS

TOP MAN CLIVE, THERE WAS SOME SERIOUS HEAD SCRATCHING GOING ON EARLIER...! :blast

IT ALL WENT FINE APART FROM DROPPING AND CHIPPING THE SCREEN ON THE F****ING FLOOR ARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH

MRA Screen and Tobinators

Glad I could help!!!:beerjug:

Normally it's me looking for the answers!!! Sorry to hear about your screen, so long as its not in your line of sight....... just leave the flies on, they'll cover it up. Are you any good with rear brakes? See my latest request for assistance lol :blast

MRA / Brakes

im not great with brakes, i normally get the local tyre people to do them as they are very friendly and kitted out the correct tools.....

best of luck

Tully do you have andy photos of your set up I have a vario screen but no fitting instructions
It's the adv I am fitting the screen to.
Pete
