MRA Vario Screen R1100GS Pic anyone?

Still as good today!

Thanks for the Pictures - really appreciated.

I've just ordered one now:thumb

With a long ride coming up this weekend I ordered one of these based on the advice in the thread and my initial impression after a short blast is VERY positive. I am 6'5" with the seat on second position plus a 10mm spacer under the seat mount, bike is an R1100GS: Even in the lowest position I enjoyed a massive reduction in force on head and shoulders compared to the standard screen. Mid setting even better at higher speeds. Thanks to all.

I got mine (a tinted one) from here a couple of weeks ago:

Quick delivery, good price.

The screen is easy to fit, and works well at keeping the turbulence away from my head. I'm 6' and the wind noise with my BMW Integral lid and the standard screen was uncomfortable.

My complaints about the screen would be that the mounting brackets look a bit 'agricultural', in that they are bare stainless and that at speed, the screen develops a low pressure area in front of me that wants to lift my bike jacket up. It's not that comfortable. It's okay at legal-ish speeds though.

Got mine from the same place as you. Very good service also.

Agree about the brackets, in fact I was a bit disappointed initially but once fitted I realised that actually you don't see them and they certainly shouldn't rust!

I called HPS before ordering, spoke to John I think, to ask about the suitability of the screen for somebody on the tall side, like me: He was quick to point out that I probably would not want the screen on the highest setting. So far I have had it only on the low and mid positions. Mid position seemed to work for me even at higher speed. Low position good for lower speed as it gives a bit of feeling. I will be taking it for a proper run this weekend, will let you know if there is more to add... https://www.justgiving.com/JonathanProctor/

the screen works remarkably well with the top part missing. A few years back I made the mistake of taking it off to clean and subsequently didn't put it back tight enough.. so one of the fixings went awol. this just before a fortnight in the Alps. I went anyway and the fact the upper part was missing seemed to have little or no effect. To be honest - in my experience the only real reason for using the upper part is to afford some protection to my sat nav. (fitted with a migsel bracket)

fwiw - Im 6'5. my 1100 has a (rebuilt) seat height of 38". and I keep the upper screen on its lowest position.
