MT-09 Tracer.....

I don't think I have ever had bike on Dunlops before, but my bike history is short...

I hope they're better than the dunlop trailmax on my honda. They're wearing like crazy and the bikes only done 600 miles. Most are worn out in 1500 miles or less. Honda are having to replace them under warranty because of the amount of complaints from owners.

My mate had a call from his dealer today to say they can't fit the heated grips to his new bike until July, as they reckon Yamaha didn't think people would pay £140 for them.:blast

Anyone else been told this?

Probably run out of stock due to the demand being higher than expected and they wouldn't be able to order more from the suppliers as it has been the holiday season in China for their New Year.

My dealer didn't mention any problem when I visited yesterday to sign the paperwork after giving a deposit over the phone last week. The luggage is on back order, though.

They are - Dunlop D222 Sportmax

Looks like Yamaha website finally got updated with list of available ( 6 !) accessories for Tracer...£145 grips are on it, along with comfy seat, low seat and custom brake leavers. Shame they don't mention "Yamaha LED indicators"....they look very nice, especially front ones with DRL function.

Low seat !!

The bike already looks like it's been shrunk like a lot of bikes these days.Do they do a tall seat as well for non-midgets ?

trust me. Tracer is quite tall bike. I'm 5'11" and I almost flat foot at high seat position. Comfort seat is slightly higher, so I was told by dealer due to increased padding.

No problem getting the OEM heated grips fitted :thumb

They're listed on the European site https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36666228/120115.Tracer.pdf :thumb 83 euros a pair, I think they look great

The Tracer has a 32.8" seat height according to http://cycle-ergo.com/ - I can just about flat foot the Super Tenere and the Tracer was fairly similar, given as 33.1 on that site

Why can't some dealers just be honest, and say they've sold out, rather than making up a bullshit excuse that Yamaha didn't think anyone would want them.:blast

Found these pictures of Givi offering for Tracer. It looks like they going for aluminium plate for their SR2122 arms. I also found that UK givi website is showing price for it - £50.20

I think it looks good (plate almost on pillion seat level). I wouldn't got for 56L box. I'm contemplating B33NMK or V47NNT.

First world problems - my heated grips ARE on back order and a call to Carole Nash to arrange insurance finds the bike is not on my underwriter's database. CN will contact Markerstein the underwriter to see if they will give the bike a rating, with a fallback position of switching the policy to Aviva as they do have the Tracer listed.

they insured mine as MT09, as that's the only one they had in their database. I asked them to confirm if tnis is OK as I told them that I have Tracer.

Same here, got confirmation:thumb

bit of a fiasco with Carole Nash. Firstly as reported above, the bike was not in the database. That was resolved. Documents went into the queue with the promise, "you will get an email within 24 hours." Email arrived early this AM. Correct date on the certificate but they hadn't changed the reg. no. Phoned at 9AM to be told I am not on the customer database and that I should phone a 0844 no and speak to JMI, a subsidiary. I rang Carole Nash back on the other 0800 no. hoping to get someone with a clue but got the same woman. She still insists I don't exist until I check she understands the phonetic alphabet. Now she has the account on the screen she starts giving me some bullshit, stating the certificate cannot be issued until the changeover day. I disabuse her of this notion and ask her to put me through to someone with a clue. She goes offline and comes back stating I will get the new certificate by email today. Around 11am the email arrives. Correct reg. no. this time but they changeover date is today! Well, at least the dealer will have a bit of paper to use to register the bike but do I risk going for a ride on the Super Ténéré this weekend?
