hi Andres,

do u have a direct link on the wunderlich site? i have seen a few similar items but they look different to your item.

cheers rob.

If you click on the banner for BMWBikeBits at the top of this page, then search on 'hugger' it will come up on page 2 of the search results :thumb2

Have been watching this thread with some interest, I have had a Machine Fart MudBling sitting in the shed for a couple of weeks waiting to be fitted. Now the rains appear to have abated I have finally got around the job :blast.

This what it looks like if you lay it down on a hard standing, second photo shows the top mounting screw holes, the thrid shows where it mounts and the fourth shows the moubtnbg screws being tightened, finally the right hand side view with the unobtrusive cable ties in place.

The wunderlich one IS different.
I had one on my 05 and found it very good. Just waiting for the 08 ESA version from either company.

Fitted a mudsling from NN three weeks ago.

£100 is a lot for a piece of black plastic but it fits like a glove and is really secure even with the cable ties. In my opinion looks fine.

The really important bit is it works superbly, keeping crud from shock/battery/left leg.

There's no way my pride and joy would have a 'chopped up old car mudflap' installed no matter how cheap...

Hi Citybum,

Thanks for the pics,I like your hugger:thumb2 .Smart solution using existing screws for attaching to the frame.Could you tell me where you did find that hugger? and did you try it when raining? Thanks , Pogo

It is the Machine-Art Mud Sling see here available in the UK from Nippy Normans, accoridig to Machine Art, Norman' is also the European distribbutor - guess that covers Switzerland too..

I have a GS because it offers me all I want in a bike and I already have a hugger fitted as all my bikes have had them :augie

I had a Pyramid hugger once. It rubbed on the tyres and swing arms, and finally the support fractured under the constant vibrations, quality kit:augie

This MudBling, the Wunderlich hugger and the DIY LIDL special all avoid the swing arm as a mount point the extra clearance avoids tyre contact especially with TKC 80s, and yet are still effective. IMHO. I am sure others will disagree ...

I replaced my Pyramid hugger with a plastic shock protector from Wunderlich -I found that the hugger also rubbed on the swing arm and was more trouble than it was worth. I also found that there was not enough clearance to fit Metzeler Tourances! I now find it much easier to keep the bike clean! as the Pyramid hugger was a bit difficult to get behind. A great addition to the GS and worth the £100.00 and I think it looks great.:thumb2
