I've fitted a MudSling to my 2010 R1200GS Anniversary, but despite the spec saying that it's compatible with the 2010 model year, it is catching on one of the bolts by the rear suspension, and will wear through if I leave it on there much longer.:censor:

Has anyone else fitted one of these, and had the same problem? If so, how did you get around this issue? As the holes to mount this are fixed, I don't see how to resolve the issue.

Try taking a picture to show what you mean, no problem with my 10GSA with my maire fitted ( no ESA )

Will take a pic and post it. How are you getting on with the new bike? Are you running it in according to the book, or do you have any tips? I've put 420 miles on mine in under a week, so have had to pull the first service forward:augie

I have a mudsling fitted to my 2010gsa, 30th anniversary and have no problems with it touching any bolts, instructions do say to remove the factory fitted spring guard but i have managed to fit mine without removing this.
It is only a few millimeteres away from the factory fitted guard but i have just checked and there has been no rubbing.

Picked my bike up 10th August and its now got just over 1700 miles on it, ran in as per reccomendations on this site , first 200km not above 5500rpm, next 200 not above 6500rpm then next 200 not above 7500rpm, i didnt however red line it prior to first service. Bike just seems to be getting better and better apart from lack of paint on centre stand:blast

p.s it is also fitted with esa

Yep, I removed the spring guard as per the instructions, but there is a bolt at the bottom that can't be moved. It's annoying as the bolt has marked the 'sling, and I can't see a fix. Other than this issue, the bike is awesome:roll

I have exactly the same on my 08 GSA with ESA. Not too bothered about it tbh. It does mark the Mudsling but nothing worse than that.

Glad it's not just me then! Has it worn right through? That's my only worry; if it doesn't wear through I'm not too worried.

Bike is great, first service tomorrow 500 miles in 3 days :thumb2 tis much smoother and faster than my 09, in all very very pleased.

I too ran it in as per the manual, it is basically giving it a good thrashing and i have redlined it a few times after 375 miles and is loosening up nicely.

couple of tiny niggles which they will sort tomorrow and now looking forward to my next trip abroad on wednesday. Fourth one this year so will be a good comparison.

Fantastic! We will have to meet up one day.

Lots of rideouts on here keep you eye on the south east section.

normally a meet up at Newlands corner on a weekend.

Be prepared for plenty of pi$$ taking, good sense of humour required :thumb2

First sunday of the month too at the ace, at least a dozen members there yesterday.

My mate told me this happened but i did not listen and fitted any way, the mudsling now has a deep vertical scratch on it. I have since put a 2 mm window spacer under each of the cups where the cable ties go to have an adverse effect and move it away from the scratching object.

sorted now should have listened to the old and wise!:rob
