Muff comparison!

I was about to type this in google but thought better!
Anyhow, I have seen a lot of good reviews for the Tocano muffs on here but wondered if there are any people who have got/tried/thrown away in disgust other types. I see Oxford and GIVI do muffs (two normally respected manufacturers) and wondered of any one on the site has any experience with these; are they easy to fit and use? and most importantly do they do the job!Thanks for any possible replies and if i have put this thread in the "wrong un" please feel free to move it.

i have the turcano muffs from ValH of this parrish and would not use any other

they are spot on because they are designed for the job

Eh? I have a pair of Oxford muffs which I use on my 1200 over the handguards, and on both the 250 and 640 over cycra handguards. Takes all of 10 mins to swap them over, although I do use cable ties to hold them in the right position. They are also very cheap.

Had Givi for a few years now .. had to cut off the elasticated wrist seals though as they were too tight to get my hand back into in an emergency .. ok now but obviously not as warm as they used to be ...

Bought my Tocanos for the DRZ.
Had to cut a hole in the ends so I could lock them into place with the bar-ends & they have a neat velcro covered flexible metal strip to join them together to aid a sturdy fit.
Fur lined & even without heated grips certainly make a differance.

I left the trail here but to my left....

Have Oxfords and they won't die so on bike until they do. They are cable tied to the Acerbics brushguards that I use for bracing. After all Muffs are not a style exercise (on bikes anyhow)...

Had Oxfords, but they're much less 'firm' than the Tucanos and flopped a bit. I then put them on a bike without handguards, but with the wind against them they pushed against the levers and lit up the brake light...

Cheaper, but not in the same league as the Tucanos.

Have the oxfords on the 1100gs. Good and sturdy. Keep the rain off and I'm happy with them

Thanks for the replies so far - so it seems the Oxford are a little flimsy but OK and the GIVIs require some fettling that makes them not too waterproof. I have an 1150 Adventure (with handguards and Touratech "extensions") would the Tocanos still fit?

No the TTextentions will have to come off, you will find this with any of the muffs

mine are on an 1150 . not to pretty but come fairer weather they will be off till next winter

Do the muffs fit with the handguards in position? I'm looking for handlebar muffs too and I've seen an ad for these which suggests that the handguard has to be removed.
