Hi, I traded my Harley Fatboy for a new R1200GS and my insurance renewal has come through for March. I also have a Triumph Speed Four and a VOR EN400. The renewal is higher than expected, I was hoping the GS would be cheaper to insure than the FatBoy. Can anyone recommend a decent company that does multibike policies? Thanks.

Loads of them do it.

Buy a copy of MCN and / or Bike and / or similar mag and spend a happy hour on the phone.

Insurance costs vary from individual to individual, depending on a whole host of factors. Me, in central London, with full NCB, multi-bikes and 30+ years of licence, may well be vastly different to you, in Gloucester. Then factor in whether you want breakdown cover boilted onto your motor insurance (I don't) and the variable changes again.

An hour of your time and a pencil is all it will take.

Try Carol Nash. I've got a two-bike policy with Norwich Union through them, it was only about 30% more than the single bike cover with BMW insurance

I have 3 bikes on a Carole Nash policy. I have had no problems when claiming but I have seen a recent thread 'Bloody Carole Nash....'.

If I ever get a cheaper quote they 'magically' come up with another that slightly beats it. Annoying, but I expect there all the same in this respect

I would have thought you're right. My insurance went down, probably 20% or so when I traded a Heritage Softail for a 1200GS.

I've got three bikes on ebike and each extra bike makes hardly any difference to the quote. Its also easy to manage your bikes and the policy.

Their overall quote was very reasonable.

I have two bikes with ebike - pretty painless to do business with them, at least as far as signing up. No experience dealing with a claims situation - long may that continue!

Carol Nash have my three bikes including the GS and they were competitive.
The other thing to keep in mind is how good the comany is at paying out when required. In spite of the recent rant thread about CN they do have a good rep in that area. Also because of their free home and Eoropean recovery I gave up paying the anual AA fee as it's no longer required.
I had an off on one of me classics 18 months back and CN had me and the bike recovered and back home within an hour of my phone call.
So far I can't fault them.

I have a two bike policy with Carole Nash. They've been the cheapest for me for a few years and I do shop around every year. I even have business cover on my bikes.:thumb

Two bikes insured through Devitt with NIG (both RBS companies), went to claim on Saturday and was told the bike wasn't on the policy and that they didn't do multi bike policies. Seems like it's going through now so hopefully just a glitch in the system. Got a vey good quote off them. Devitt the previous year had beaten an NU policy by 40%, NU direct couldn't get any where near.

Seehttp://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134303 for details of my need to claim.
