been offered a cheep 05 620 multi been stood for just over two years so according to ducati will need belts done anyone done this job ?? or had one of these ?? any info gratefully appreciated ..
Changing the belts is a skoosh.
Line up the dots; mark the position of where the tensioners are sitting before loosening. Get the old ones off and ease the new ones over the edges of the sprockets with a bit of plastic cut from a milk carton to avoid any nicking if it's tight. Make sure the belts are are warm and soft. Makes life easier.
Redo making sure the dots line up and apply common sense to tension.

Doddle, if it takes you more than half an hour put the mug of tea down and use both hands. Mechanical sympathy is my preferred method of tensioning, the good old fashioned 90 degree twist and not the try to stuff something between the belt and its running surface Check the marks, double check them then do it again, plugs out (should already be out by this stage) and turn the motor by hand (spanner)a good couple of revolutions. Check marks and tension again. Reassemble then take it out and enjoy.

the tool i am referring to is like a cup that fits over the idler. it has a spring gauge attached to, a bit like a fishing scale. you pull against the belt until you get the right poundage.
