Multistrada

Can someone tell me how to attach a picture please.

I believe you need to be a subscriber to put it on site directly or else host it somewhere like photobucket (free) etc. then link to it...

Can someone tell me how to attach a picture please.

If its in your computer - which I will assume, google tinypic.

It will ask you to upload a picture from your computer by clicking on the box marked BROWSE.
this will take you to your pictures folders and you double click into folder and double click on the image you want to post.
You need to choose a size to convert your picture to - choose MESSAGE BOARDS.

Click UPLOAD

type in the anti spam letters it asks you and it will resize the image so you can attach it to your next post on this forum.

Got it, love it, early days I know. The red is georgous. Will have to get my 10 year old grandson to help me with all the settings in the dash, I am sure there must be some games in there as well.
Screen not great but I hardly go to the South of France very often. The engine is awsome and very smooth. Will take some photo's soon.
Just a special mention to my wonderfull wife of 42 years for putting up with me buying so many new bikes. (the Multistarada did cost me some diamond earings though):blast

I toyed with replacing my GSA with an MS as felt I was loosing my biking mojo with the big old panzer and loosing sight of why i got into biking in the first place.
Whilst the MS is fast it just seemed to me more like a bike that was too full on for a dual sport bike and not full on enough at being a sport bike or a tourer.

In the end I spent the £7k it would have cost to change on a new Street Triple R and kept the GS instead :D

The Triple for solo blasting and taking as many power ranger scalps on their sports bikes as possible, the GSA for leisurely days with a pillion, touring and the trip through North America I've promised myself :augie

Running cost wise another £80 on insurance and another tax disc per year so not too bad :thumb2

Followed this post with interest as I originally dismissed the Multistrada as not being a 'proper' adventure bike due to it's road-going bias until I watched Nick Plumb take one off-road for a play....he took it where I wouldn't even consider taking my F800GS.

Obviously most of us will never reach his level of skill but it was pretty impressive to see what the Multistrada can do (and that was on road tyres).

My view for what it's worth?

If, like the 95% of owners who don't take the GS on anything more challenging than gravel, then it's worth at least considering the Ducati as as credible alternative as an Adventure Bike. Yes, the GS might be a better cross-continent motorway mileage muncher, but on rural backroads the Ducati will certainly put a grin on your face....I'd have one alongside my F800 rather than a 12GS anytime :)

I don't know anyone who has been really disappointed with a Multistrada.

I know for certain there were some owners, frustrated with the earlier ones (poor or irregular low speed fuelling glitches and ill closing panniers) but these problems seemed to get fixed.

A nice bike, very good at what it does well.

IMO a fantastic bike, but would be concerned about corrosion, as I saw a 61 plate in a showroom at the weekend with corrosion on the exhaust and other areas.:blast

I am thinking big red and Italian but havent had a proper test ride yet. Not a single 1200 MS for sale here in Eire and no Ducati dealership. I was up in Ballymoney last weekend looking at them.
The owners on Multistrada forums seem more than happy with the bike.
Some of the 2010 bikes are for sale in the UK for silly money.
I think its a bike to buy cheap or with a lot of warantee.

Make me a sensible offer - 2010 MTS 1200S Touring with 10 months left of the 3rd year warranty

Gosh. Were I one of the Ducati managers, I'd be buying that bike back off the owner and sticking it in the Bologna research lab to find out what the heck went wrong ............ no amount of poor owner care and negligence should result in those pictures !

I had a real bee in my bonnet for a change from the GSA, i had it advertised but couldnt get a decent offer, i wasnt going to give a deal.
Took a blast around the Gourge De tarn and recently 5 days in Yorkshire. Got some new EXPs fitted properly at Leeds Tyre, the ones on the bike were not worn out but the rear had flattened off and the front had scoops.
I have fallen in love with the bike again. We now have a Ducati dealer in Dublin, i will get a decent test ride, i have only ridden one around a car park and the engine sounded like a bag of spanners. A good thing about the GSA is i can fix anything, i know the bikes inside out and plenty of bits turn up on ebay.de.
So far the 2010 has been solid.
I got stuck into my CBX streeghtfighter project and forgot about the Ducati.

I had a real bee in my bonnet for a change from the GSA,

Same here . Sold the GSA and bought a super tenere . Great for over all thrashing about in all weathers but needed more power . Had a go on a ms over the mountain at the TT and have never been faster . Sat in the right position with 150 bhp a great handling did it for me . It's a proper road bike .

Had to buy one !

Well, did you ever get the lens cap off your Nikon?

Did the wife get her pearl necklace? :spank

Did you shoehorn yourself into a red leather suit?

Did a flimsy 150bhp bike kill you?

Are you just waiting for a dry day to actually ride it - just to keep the warranty valid?

The bike was a couple of years and 30+ thousand miles old. TBH, the rocker covers on my GS were just as bad, if not worse, at 12 months and 12k miles (replaced under warranty).

A mate of mine has a MS, with a couple of weeks to go on the warranty it developed all sorts of electrical gremlins, dashboard, ecu, unable to turn the bike off...etc etc. He got it back to the dealer just within the warranty expiry - they have had to replace pretty much every electrical component in order to resolve the problem, including the loom. The warranty cost has been £5000!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

You wouldn't want to buy a second hand one just out of warranty and cop for that lot......:blast

Nah - sling the streetfighter on eBay and spend the proceeds on a Hilltop remap ;)
