yeah, a couple of aerosol cans of matt black would've been way cheaper but not on 10ks worth of bike IMHO (had thought about it tho ).

As for the hi viz try to avoid them as much as possible, but if they were to bring out a nice little black number, I might be tempted

I think you have done a great job there and good attention to detail

I have to admit that I like the standard silver bits on my bike and the way they contrast with the black and yellow parts of my bike, but nice to see a stealth mode machine

I've been thinking of doing something similar but I'm having a hard time finding a good company to do the powder coating and painting. I did wonder what my wheels would look like (spoked as well) but you have answered my question .... well done sir.

I had seen the thread before and it really makes the TT panniers look good. Unfortuneately I have the BMW panniers and they have rivets all over the place so it would be really difficult to get a smooth covering on the boxes.

The other alternatives (as I see it) are powder coating which would mean drilling all the rivets out to get the plastic corners off, not impossible but a big job that I'll be saving for the winter, or the second option... Hammerite

I think I'll be leaving that one for a bit later

Best looking 1200 Adv I've seen so far.

As others have said, shame there's no black engine and transmission option (yet). The 1200S with the engine, gearbox and shaft looks great.

The BMW panniers will cover with the vinyl despite the sticky-out rivets.

The satin black stuff stretches nicely over the embossed Touratech logo on the Zega's and heat from the sun causes it to shrink back very neatly over any irregularities in a few hours.

I've looked closely at the BMW Adventure luggage and it will cover easily. In fact, the shape over the corners will make it easier.

Tinted screen next I reckon.

I have yet to read the rules on the reverse of the log book but I am assumin once changed colour of the bike dvla have to be informed, and if so how much does or did it cost to change the details ?

You just need to fill in change of colour part of section 7 of the V55 and send it back to the DVLA, no charge involved.
