Mummy, Mummy, Look !!!

Could have done just as good a job with 5 litres of black masonary paint an a bit of frozen cauliflower for the ultimate rat bike look! Only joking looks well smart. You gonna wear a high viz vest when riding it then?

 yeah, a couple of aerosol cans of matt black would've been way cheaper but not on 10ks worth of bike IMHO (had thought about it tho :augie ).

As for the hi viz :barf try to avoid them as much as possible, but if they were to bring out a nice little black number, I might be tempted:D

Sorry guys and gals (yes, I come from the Jim'll Fix It era), I forgot to mention that the entire cost of all the powder coating work, including System top box mounting plate and System pannier rails, came to a wopping, unbelievable £65

That looks really good POG.

It just needs some carefully chosen silver components to highlight the effect:D

I think you have done a great job there and good attention to detail ;)

I have to admit that I like the standard silver bits on my bike and the way they contrast with the black and yellow parts of my bike, but nice to see a stealth mode machine

Quite happy with the paint job. So did it rain your way as well ?

Great thread, great job.

I've been thinking of doing something similar but I'm having a hard time finding a good company to do the powder coating and painting. I did wonder what my wheels would look like (spoked as well) but you have answered my question .... well done sir.

Is This What You Were Meaning ?? :augie

Yes, something needs to be done about them...:mmmm

I don't know if you have seen this Thread:nenau

Thanks for that Proff :thumb

I had seen the thread before and it really makes the TT panniers look good. Unfortuneately I have the BMW panniers and they have rivets all over the place so it would be really difficult to get a smooth covering on the boxes.

The other alternatives (as I see it) are powder coating which would mean drilling all the rivets out to get the plastic corners off, not impossible but a big job that I'll be saving for the winter, or the second option... Hammerite :blast

I think I'll be leaving that one for a bit later :thumb

Pog,

Best looking 1200 Adv I've seen so far. :thumb2

As others have said, shame there's no black engine and transmission option (yet). The 1200S with the engine, gearbox and shaft looks great.

The BMW panniers will cover with the vinyl despite the sticky-out rivets.

The satin black stuff stretches nicely over the embossed Touratech logo on the Zega's and heat from the sun causes it to shrink back very neatly over any irregularities in a few hours.

I've looked closely at the BMW Adventure luggage and it will cover easily. In fact, the shape over the corners will make it easier.

Tinted screen next I reckon.

You just need to fill in change of colour part of section 7 of the V55 and send it back to the DVLA, no charge involved.
