I'm not a big fan of streaming music from my phone whilst riding, I like to have it actually on my device so it's easily controllable and selectable on the fly.
I've tried to save music to the navigator by drag and drop (MacBook) but it says it can't do it as the the navigator needs to be set to communicate (or something like that) I can't find a menu where I can alter the navigators settings for that, so I'm a bit stumped. Any suggestions please ?

So... needs to be MP3 format.
If you connect your NAV to your laptop (cable) , it should pop up in your file manager. Sometimes takes a few minutes for handshaking etc. If you have Garmin Express on your laptop/desktop it will try and update your NAV at the same time
You will be able to see the contents of the NAV6 as if it were a plug-in hard drive or USB memory stick...
There will be a folder called MP3.
Load your MP3 tracks into there.

If you put loads of music in, you will slow down your unit because it needs the memory for planning functions...

So buy a Micro SD card (you only need 32gb) , and put it in the slot in the NAV next to the battery

You can also create a folder on the SD card on your computer, and load the MP3's before you install the SD card in your Garmin.

Then you can load hundreds of tracks (I have 600+) onto the NAV6 without using the NAV's own internal storage :)

Sorry. I should have made clearer. It's actually the Connected Drive nav unit (sorry)

I had no issues loading music on my CRN, using my Windows 10 laptop. It was the same as transferring to any other device. It also works really well, with no playback issues experienced at all. I have seen some FB posts complaining it only gives out mono, which doesn’t bother me at all.

All sorted thank you !!!
Turned out it needed a different cable for some reason !!!
