My 06 GS1200 Upgrades

Hi All

I went today to the NEC,and wasn't impressed at all with the new1200 GSA.No major changes, still a lot of plastic and the same price almost. I was told that they had to go back to the old system with the gear box which is the 1150 GSA style. They have had a lot of complaints about the gear box, apart from that nothng much. I wouldn't trade my 1150 for a 1200. Aprt from that not a bad day, an expensive one,but enjoyable even so.

That is the great thing about the 1200 adventure is the change in the gear box. I had a 1150 adventure with the same box and it was fantastic. With the new designed 1200 this will be the best touring bike in the world.

Thanks for that mate, RT wheels it is then! were you at te Ace on the two stroke Sunday? I spent a good hour drooling over a couple of FS1E's, the RD 400s and 350 LC's...sad aint it..!

Thanks for the the thread Dee Tee, did you get to the bottom of the machining that needs to be done to the wheels?

may have a pair of wheels available, and would be handy to know.

cheers

FW190,i was at the Ace on 2T Day.I have not had a 2T since i passed my Test on a D14/4 Bantam, went for the Ride Out and to meet up with my Sister who visited the Ace for the 1st time.My bike was just inside the Parking area ,on the Left as you went in. As i said previously,i have ST wheels fitted on my GS.They are a straight fit with no machining needed, however i believe you need to use GS Hub Seals.I do not know about the fitment of RT Wheels.
